I have been in 60Hz, then 144Hz, then 240Hz and now 360Hz. Being the last two monitors Gsync.
I noticed the change every time I upgraded. I really recommend you at least 120Hz, it's really noticeable. Higher frequencies are noticeable, but not as much when you go from 60 - 75 to 120.

Also, always Gsync if possible.
