i swear the only reason why this gatekeeping exists is because people don't want stalker to end up being mainstream tiktok bullshit, which honestly is something I get. Though, I remember back when I joined the community in 2019, everyone was supportive of everyone no matter the mod. Thing is though that the fame with gamma and the cuckold milsim community flocking to it, the "true fans" became so die hard and defensive that if they sense anything related to anomaly they have a conniption.

I think the problem is that many people discover the series through the mods like gamma/anomaly so therefore their expectations are completely off the charts when they begin the trilogy. So therefore you get people asking for recommendations on what mods to run before playing even if its their first time playing the game.

Its like downloading Skyrim with 150+ mods before playing it vanilla first. You have to admire vanilla dullness before turning the game into something else.

For good reason, its a great modpack and for a certain more realistic gun nerd fan base it can be extremely fun, but its not truly stalker, and since its the hottest shit on the market and in terms of mechanics, gameplay and graphics it makes the OG's looks shit, no one will play them.
