Guys, I don't know if this is the right channel to write this, but I have a problem with my stalker shadow of chonobyl, this message is appearing when I try to start it, my pc is good and I've already played several other games with it, even games with better graphics, please, if you can help me

decided to finally give a try to True Stalker as i had the install files on my pc for some time already. what the actual f is this stalker it looks so damn good considering its based on the originals and openxray. hellishly smooth running as well!
So modding in S2 and the enhanced might be dead on console upon arrival unless GSC shift their Perspective on the modding. Similar to the first release of the trilogy. :/

Hello! I'm the creator of the SRAP mods and I'm looking to bring those mods over to the enhanced edition. Currently trying to get the Shoc mod ported first and I am running into an issue.
The problem I have run into is the hud model position modifier is no longer working. However the zoom position modifier works just fine.
I am assuming that the weapon position is now being handled elsewhere. If anyone has any ideas on where I would be able to find the model position modifier, that would be a huge help!

GAMMA is its own free download and is not a mod of any of the trilogies. Itâs a mod for Anomaly, which is its own free download too. You cannot play GAMMA or Anomaly on consoles.

Hey there, I am unsure if this is the perfect channel for it but here goes since it's about Stalker CoP.
I recently reinstalled the game for my 7th run (yeah, I love CoP), and this time I wanted to mod it.
I installed:
Arsenal Overhaul 3.1
Absolute Nature 4.04
AtmosFear 3
(Order of installation: AO3.1 -> AtmosFear 3 -> AN4.04)
I am on Steam, and I cleared everything I had till then to a backup folder so I'm starting fresh, I also deactivated steam cloud for that very run
I managed to start a new game from the menu no problem, but when trying to shoot with my pistol, it gave me this error

Yeah, need to make sure that you applied compatibility patches with each mod installed. Apparently, you messed up some files related to the weapons addon, so best to redo everything while considering compatibility of each mod whether it exists or non existing
The argument suggests missing particles
So, ig you should try AO on its own first and see if everything is fine or something is corrupted. Then install over other mods after making sure everything sits together or compatibility patches are included withing the mods archive (usually main gamedata, and compatibility for each mod supported. It goes main files, then compatibility patch)
I did it alone (AO3.1) and same result, it's when I shoot the pistols but other guns work.
I did install the full AO3.1 from ModDB, but I didn't see the compat patches

What do you not like about Gunslinger? Itâs great if you just want updated HUD visuals, extended and better animations, much nicer looking firearms and better customisation system with some difficulty increase all while retaining full vanilla story.. I do still have Burer PTSD though.
it is a broken mod that is incomplete and will remain like so, already outdated by todays standards that harms gameplay and balancing being propped up by word of mouth and recognizability alone
So itâs not that you find the mod itself is a bad one, it just outdated and unfinished that you donât like about it? I thought it felt finished when I played through SoC and CoP with it, didnât really notice bugs or any major game breaking issues, I wasnât going out my way to look for them right enough but I managed to complete both games or hardest difficulty with gunslinger, was tedious at some points but still good. Imo.

There is fast travel via teleports, though they're pretty few and far between early on
If you don't have one then you will have to reload from before you got stuck or you are SOL
Or figure out how to get unstuck I guess
hi @austere girder ! i had one low-priority request for a future update i'd love to see in the remasters. basically the shader code that handles animated meshes in the trilogy stores vertex positions as integers instead of floating points so you get this distinct issue where the vertices basically snap around on a coarse grid resulting in some pretty ugly results at times. this is actually pretty easy to fix (just change the data type from short to float & change a few lines that handle those structures) and many community engine updates and mods have addressed this but i would love to see it fixed for the vanilla game, especially for consoles where there's nothing the community can do about it.
this does affect every default mesh in the games already but it is especially pertinent to modders as higher poly models suffer from the precision loss much more visibly. thanks & look forward to the modding tools & documentation đ

This may seem like a strange question but what would be a good estimation of the split between the amount of mods for separate games in the trilogy, I am talking mods, mod packs and standalones like anomaly, if i had to make a guess maybe SoC: 40%, CS: 10%, CoP 50%?

also today i learned that apparently in shadow of chernobyl EE you can now use .thm files for texture definitions (i used one from clear sky as a basis) so you don't need to use textures.ltx! this is great news for many reasons but especially because editing textures.ltx is an absolute mod conflict lightning rod
i was also concerned i wouldn't be able to easily add new textures without editing textures.ltx but now that's a non-concern so i'm free to make my weapons much more modular đ đ đ

I'm glad we can at least use them now, I was also getting annoyed with the default shading model on the weapon textures so I can change it for a glossier one that doesn't blow the specular out on my slide with how bright the diffuse is
yup, just tested, pointed to a different weapon's _bump in the thm and it does override whatever is defined in the ltx. sweet!

Makes sense. I would unironically suggest you to apply to GSC - they hire outsourcers, so maybe your work might make it officially. Itâs so much better in quality than what GSC done for EE.

I need help with Dead Air
I got a really old pc and I play old games, anyways, I finished cop and I wanted to try smth like anomaly but my computer wont run anomaly, so I tried dead air, I installed the bug fixes and the spanish translation, and when I try to change settings like downgrading the graphics it tells me to restart, when I do that and start the game again it all corrupts, (not really) the letters/lyrics in the menu dont make sense, its not in russian, only random words

Both renders were made on Blender, using the labx8 map from CoP. Fact is: one of them was extracted from CoC (Call of Chernobyl, a 32x standalone mod that compiles all locations from the classic trilogy in one game), while the other one was imported from the Enhanced Edition (Alt texts on their way. Read them)
I'll tell you what: extracting from the EE is much EASIER now, easier than you think. All you have to do is extract the .db files from the "levels" and "resources" folders from each game using the db unpacker (yup, it also works with these versions). On the parameters, set them on "CS/CoP" and 64x, and voilĂĄ! You can now use all maps, models and textures from the EE versions on Blender (and modding), with enhanced everything
PS: ignore the "gamedata" folders, they only have the cutscenes (which you can already use without any decompression method, and up to 4K!)
if i played (and completed) EE versions before even OG versions, am i still a true stalker fan ?

For IWP does anyone have a clue on how to fix Shader Cache issue? When trying to extract Anomaly to IWP mod to the JSGE folder, I get the user permission error 0x80004005 and it says "Jupiter." This happened I guess after the game still remembers Shader Cache from a previous install. I have used "Cleanmgr" command and deleted all the shader cache I can. fresh installs of IWP don't work as the PC doesn't wanna let Anomaly shader pack extract to the mod folder. Please help lol!

No, a corrupted save means that there is already corrupt data but it may crash later.
Eg in CS there is a common corruption point in Garbage but most people only crash when they reach Agroprom
So it takes a while to kick in

i see, still learning a bit of the issues with the game , i got a bunch of saves before loading on rostok the first time gonna try from there, tried to load one just after X16 but still crashed so probably happened way earlier.

Original main idea of OGSE 0693 gameplay wise was an Hobo with a Shotgun with nato weapons being deleted to fit this vision. With 2.10 revised patch the team has completely fallen apart. OGSR reversed a lot of gameplay changes since.
At the time, when ogse 0692 was still relevant, there were many disputes on the forum about where NATO weapons could have come from in the Zone, because according to teamlead, everyone in the Zone should be running around with soviet shotguns, AKs and ww2 weapons only, this was his main concept.
ps long story short: ogse 0693 (without the 2.10 update being made by one man after team breakup) and the actual ogsr mod are different mods, both gameplay-wise and conceptually.

If I want to delete all the text that I don't need, it can take a lot of time, since the mod has a large list of items, all the names of which I simply don't know. And they will be displayed when you press the F key. So it would be much easier to disable the function/script responsible for this, although I don't know what file it is.

its a lot easier to remove a few text lines than analyze the function scripts + some stuff cant be removed and is baked into the game like saving shows you a dialogue

Why do some factions in the trilogy not have Ukrainian voiceovers?
For example, Duty was voiced by Oleksandr Vilkov, a Ukrainian. He also voiced Clear Sky, and they speak Ukrainian, but Duty does not. He voiced other characters as well, and they speak Ukrainian â but Duty speaks Russian.
Same with the Mercenaries. They were voiced by Hryhorii Herman and Andrii Prokhorov. Prokhorov founded 4A Games, but his voice acting is in Ukrainian in Shadow of Chernobyl. Hryhorii later started voicing bandits in Clear Sky. Still, Hog speaks Ukrainian in Clear Sky.

yeah it affected vanilla meshes too, but to a smaller degree due to the lower polycount
in shadow of chernobyl the aks74u iron sights had some texture shifting due to this for instance
bit hard to see but here on the tip of the barrel on the shotgun it was not properly round due to this issue

Overhauls like Radiophobia or Autumn Aurora are not possible on EE I think. They change lots of the stuff under the hood

I'm trying to use the ZRP for the first time and I did all my configuration stuff, and I'm failing to launch the game. I launch the game and it gives me a crash report. When I go into the crash log it says that xrcore is breaking trying to find amk_mod_outfits.ltx
I don't have any amk mods or anything based on amk. All I have is the zone reclamation project 1.07

The files you already have are missing one. Which means, you installed a compatibility patch with the add-ons you mentioned and bricked it all

yes, in this state the game launches and is usable, but there are minimods that I would like to use and I like my configurations. I will configure ZRP the way that I like it, and make sure not to install anything I don't need. thanks for the help I hopefully won't be back for techsup
Usually, some mods include standalone add-ons (simple configs), and compatibility patches that requires installing the main add-ons files first then the ones you find in the archive (it's a bit unpopular tho, so I think you simply mistaken one of the files for an add-on)
that's likely. most of my modding in the past has been Fallout 3/NV/TTW and cyberpunk 2077. that's usually either drag and drop or mod managers. never had to use a proprietary modifier.exe

Regarding the mini mods, make sure you pick the right one and do it one at a time then test. If any override pop-up shows up, abort the whole thing and use what you already managed to install. I would've helped more if I had my pc close
