My suggestion to improve the randomized loot in this game would be to give the random loot themes to pull from instead of every backpack having some of everything

Idk I don't find collecting random junk immersive personally. It also doesn't seem super immersive that there would be a booming trade in random junk in the zone either. If it was stuff that has an actual story attached to it that grounds it into the world then that is a different story. But when you are talking about making stuff like Anomaly, that's the opposite of adding story, it's adding stuff without narrative context. But this is just based on my priorities

Regarding stalker 2, anyone have any idea if its possible with UEtools to just complete one objective in a quest? Or possibly do a "refresh" on all NPCs or something? Korshunov teleports to chemical plant for some reason during visions of truth, trying to figure out a fix... completing the quest and starting the next one bricks the game for me

@slow idol I guess I only half read your question in the other channel... The mod reviews in the pin are for story mods. I think those are worth checking out too. If you wanted something that tries to fairly lightly overhaul SoC, Memories of the Zone is one of the things I would recommend. Before the S2 release I was also playing one called The Curved Road which is more of an addition/expansion on the game with more quests and maps without changing the gameplay too much.

Hopefully this is the right chat. I picked up the first three games as I am unable to play stalker 2. Specifically I had some changes I wanted to make in SOC. I'm completely noob to modding SOC and recently learned I don't think I know how to read because every modding guide I've tried has ended in game crashes or the mods not doing anything. I think my biggest issue is understanding/ascertaining which mods are built for 04 or 06 versions of the game or even if the mods are still up to date. That aside, at this point, I just want to find a (hopefully standalone) mod that will adjust the bullet dispersion multiplier so my bullets stop curving after 15 feet. I read the SOC gunplay thread so I am aware of the mechanics of the game but am not prepared to continue playing it as is. I'm not even sure right now if what I'm looking for exists. I have struggled to find people even talking about it and failed trying out mods I thought might work. I really managed to, more than once, attempt the install of a doom mod and an insurgency mod because I got lost on the modding website. I think after all the hours I've spent on this I just want someone to tell me "the dispersion can't be changed go play a different stalker" or "here's this mod, makes sure you install it on version 1.000whatever"

Yes but there's going to be a steep learning curve. From everything I've done so far (which is very basic) you don't need to actually write any code yourself for basic mods like changing damage or armor or anything like that. You do, though, need to understand how to read basic code structures and understand how variables work.

I have a very very loose understanding of it, and by loose i mean it only extends as far as changing values in json file in notepad to adjust skill values or mark certain quests as complete in a game i was playing lol

Just understand that these things are presented in values like 1 or 1.5, so read them as 100%, 150%, etc

There are some things like mutant health that are real HP values, but those are easy to spot because they're way bigger numbers than 1 or 5 lol

Anybody doing internal stuff (loading libraries, not pak)? Calling some of the static functions internally (GetAllActorsOfClass) does not give any meaningful output when looking for AController, or AAIController, looking through active instances of actors didn't seem to contain much either, other than some prefab actors.

Charges i think are tied to effects (the visuals)
And the minmax values are 30 which i think cannot be changed at this time, in theory it should make the effect weaker or stronger (visually only trough aberration)

In which case you need to know what is leaking and plug it

I played through SoC not that long ago and I only used Gunslinger with Absolute Nature 4 mods and I don't remember encountering any bugs/crashes at all. Gunslingers a really nice mod since its only HUD changes to the game and a few other tweaks like to mutants, they make Burers a proper nightmare for some reason but there's no changes to story or that afaik so its pretty vanilla game expect updated graphics to arms, weapons and animations.

in SoC you can play the game from start to finnish just fine, in CS it is recommended to get SRP and in CoP just like SoC

Pretty much. Old World offers more standard experience. Also removes all the unnecessary inventory bloat and insane weapon degradation.

Redux and Custom are kinda improvements on Old World.

It's a mod for a mod for a mod situation but in the end it works well and imo it makes anomaly fun.

I was picking through DynamicItemGenerator.cfg in hopes of making npcs drop armor more frequently when they die. What does weight do? Weight is used for WeaponPrimary and BodyArmor categories. Obviously weapon drop & secondary weapon is often found on the body, but armor do not drop for some reason. Other categories such as Head & SubItemGenerator are using chance.
I added chance 1.0 (it means 100%) to bunch of armors and killed newly spawned npcs, I was able to loot 1-2 pieces of different armors from each dead npcs body. Does it mean some NPCs can spawn with double armor equipped? Is there a better way to make NPCs drop their equipped armor? How does weight & chance interact with one another?
