Once you get the money I recommend getting Vepr-12 from the guys at Agroprom (they sell the only 20 round version afaik) for primary slot and Vikhr for secondary

ABR changes gunplay around and adds more difficulty but nothing near Anomaly or GAMMA

well in the hand model, the vintorez will look scopeless and the player will use iron sight if pressed to zoom (but it can be misaligned since the weapon is not intended to use iron sights). But in inventory icon, the vintorez still has a scope
As for attaching other scopes, well you need to specify the
scope_name = ......
to other scope name such as susat, etc.
and also set the
scope_status = 2
(Note: scope_status number is 1 / 2 / 0. 0 means the weapon can't attach scope at all, 1 means the scope is integrated and undetachable, 2 means it can attach or detach scope)

Quality of life mod requests (that would make it easier to disable hud elements and become immersed in the game)
- free look
- free zoom
- handheld compass (so I can turn off the hud compass, and since I can't walk around holding the PDA)
- handheld PDA (not full screen pda, so I can walk around holding the PDA, to get orientation)
- PDA icon filter (toggle the different icons on and off to simplify the map view)
- simple interact menu (text based interact menu like previous stalkers, without needing to wait for dialogue to play out)
- Lower weapon (instead of put weapon away)
Want pip scopes mod
the point of free look, as anyone who has done IRL land navigation before would know, is so that you can maintain the same heading, while still being able to look around. If you're doing real land nav, you don't want to be turning your body every which direction because when you turn yourself around you get turned around, have to pull up your compass (PDA in this case) and get your bearings again. It is some low-hanging fruit and shouldn't be all that difficult to decouple camera movement from the viewmodel
For anyone who wants to play 100% without the HUD, free look is a must

"land navigation" is the specific formal training for orienteering in the wild for the US Army
so no, not literally everyone who can walk. And loads of dumbasses failed land navigation training and had to repeat it
as I just explained, the benefit is that I can look around without changing my orientation, W is still the exact same direction as W when I do free look. At night time, when you can't see far enough to have a landmark, its easy to get turned around, especially in a place like Red Forest

nope, orienteering is a specific activity.
If there are a dozen boxes containing different coordinates all nearby, you'd better be pretty accurate with your orienteering, or you'll open the wrong box, and go to the wrong subsequent objective.

any modder(s) already on a no weight limit mod of some description? the game is giving me the fomo in form of "I have to loot everything" and I already run around with only my 2 weapons equipped and food, drink, medkits and ammo alone are bringing me over the weight limit, it is ridiculous. I cant stand weight limits in any sort of game, screw "realism" in this context.

the core game variables are under pakchunk0-Windows.pak then in the stalker2/Content/GameLite/Gamedata folder. I had some what of an easier time since i work with some programming tools at work, so it was a bit more intuitive for me. I think for a layman it might be tougher

It might be possible to make a somewhat survival hardcore mod via cfg file modification. There's a lot of stuff that seem modifiable. Change item drops, change medkit healing speed, tweak the difficulty, etc

I tried that one but I can't bear the shader compiling time, so I'm using 2 different ones that use .pak files instead of modifying the Engine.ini file, Stalker Optimizer, and STK2 - SPF
Probably isn't a great idea to use 2 of them at the same time but hasn't caused any issues as far as I can tell lol
They have updated it and it now compiles magnitudes faster
They have overlapping functions. It would probably not work well
The changes on the ini are basically the same at the .pak one but the ini gives more control over the mod

These are my grievances with AI tbh. It feels like STALKER on lower difficulties all over again that just adds or reduces enemy HP pools, lowers damage etc. It would be nice to have the true STALKER experience of one-two bullets against unarmored/early enemies kills them but so can kill you
Also AI is super opresive to the point that you can just cheese them as they will eventually just rush corners to you

also, ive notice on AI file that they can predict the player through sound. I think this is what people are seeing as the enemies "seeing" you through walls

I want to make a small mod to get into the process, i found a .uasset file i want to change a value in and repack. but not sure how to actually change the values, the guide tells me to open the extracted file from FModel in UAssetGUI but i only get the raw file and it cant read that.
I suspect it is because most guides and tools are mostly for UE4 so i am missing some step
main complaints are that the bosses are way too spongy and its a bit laggy and unstable
thankfully i found the config file for resistances for all NPCs and now it feels much better

for now, in my uninformed opinion, without the SDK, you cant change core systems, only change cfg scripts
I assume you can add and remove stuff from said cfg scripts as well so you can have fun there and there is some kind of flexibility, but for mods that change the game in a truly big way, it will be a lot better to wait for the SDK so you can unpack, pack and write directly to paks and such
im surprised already how much is modable tbh. All we need is a way to inject scripts into the gameplay and some kind of coding interface with the game's logic

Every weapon SID. download Console Enabler on nexus and use command "XSpawnItemNearPlayerBySID ItemPrototypeSID" And change the last with the weapon SID you want. If you know how to look through paks you can add all items through "Stalker2/Content/GameLite/GameData/ItemPrototypes" every item SID is in there and you can spawn it all with that command
When 2 mods using the same file are ran, how does that work? Is it a line-by-line overwrite, or just full file only? e.g. maybe only last loaded file is used?

I only edited the key in the .json, not sure if I needed to change anything else

@Kellar It's in two places. DifficultyPrototypes.cfg, "Repair_Cost" and in ObjPrototypes.cfg "RepairCostModifier". I believe they're multiplicative. I set the Repair_Cost to 0.1 (from 1.0) and it's actually worth it to upgrade and repair guns now.
In DifficultyPrototypes.cfg you can set it for each difficulty type or set it for the default struct (currently the difficulties don't override the default values)

don't think so since I used the simple config mod to disable mouse acceleration and I am getting them
So the struct at the top with an SID=Empty is default values. Then you have some values overridden in the different difficulties. For instance if you look at the Easy setting you'll see Weapon_BaseDamage = 1.2. That overrides the default of 1.0. If there isn't an entry under the difficulty setting then it will use the default.
