vanilla-wise, It is good. Just imagine call of pripyat but sandbox. it is fairly easy to mod and tweak to your own choice. Then you have CoC repacks and forks like kami mentioned which is based recommendation i gotta say

did any devs that worked on stalker work on Lost Alpha? I asked that a few days ago elsewhere but nobody knew. LA credits don't make it clear.

My main reason was should I play LA before Stalker 2. Will any part of the story of LA be put into Stalker 2.
If it's a mod that's one thing, the marketing around LA was a bit odd. I remember two different youtubers say that an x-stalker dev worked on it. Then I wondered, if that same dev were to then work on Stalker 2, would they find a way to link the stories.

You can use controller companion or w/e on steam, but it's a bit complicated. That being said the workshop has stuff for shadow of chernobyl and call of pripyat.

Steam controller config also can do similar, but it doesn't feel nearly as good.

I was interested and checked the mods and I read the comments and everybody is saying that these mods are using stolen leaked character sets from stalker 2 and I would happily send you the link to these mods but can't due to the risk of advertising.

Tbh, as far as I see here, you will be taking the full game to the directory and it will launch through the bin_x64 anyway. The game will not keep tabs on the time spent that way.
So, it's all meaningless but you will still play the game normally.

it will be limited to what you can change on Gamedata folder,meaning any and every modification made to the engine is offlimits

anomaly still uses the CoP/CS skeleton while GA injects a new GA skeleton that adds bone points where viewable upgrades are displayed

technical shit,its harder to make models for it but you also get a lot more flexibility when it comes to viewable upgrades

I saw that you hate anomaly. Not a fan myself because of annoying 0% weapons condition from enemies corps, but why you hate Anomaly ? Just want to understand, because i turned off anomaly after 15 minutes after i killed bandits and saw that their weapons have 0-3% conditions but they shoot like its 1000%.

Mainly because the community is braindead, it takes attention from much better mods, it has ridiculous item bloat, lackluster story, boring freeplay with like 3 randomly generated missions and the progression sucks too. You can get great gear under 20 minutes

Dont get me wrong, the community can be good for a chat sometimes but when it comes to mod prefferences their arguments absolutely suck

Progression for stalker is important. When i began playing, i dont understand "why i cant hit anything ?" Progression is answer. Like in classic RPG the higher level you get, the more higher your Attack, in stalker Weapon Accuracy.
But, from what i understand, item bloat is not bad, i actually want to see that in stalker. Basically, you sell only weapon and artifacts, there is no point of looking for something else, they are most valuable. If item bloat is what i imagine, than its good. You have different items to sell and look for. You can place them in empty location to reward player for looking here. Playing OLR 2.5 and basic reward for exploring locations, except good looking and atmosphere, is vodka and medpack. Its not really rewarding.
And i agree with attention. This mod is advertised as a Stalker 2 or Best Stalker Game, which is just killing any interest for newbie to look at anything else. Why if there already Anomaly ?

heavely depends on what youre trying to do
for SoC,having a more RPG-fied cycle of progression is fine but CoP has a more ups and downs of each choice balancing which doesnt lend itself to bloat

I wouldnt say that Bloat is a problem in a mod like NA7,but that is an entirely diff can of worms

and by bloat I mean weapon bloat

end of the day,anything you do is dependent on the end point vision you have for the game,you can say that repair item bloat is a problem but it can certainly be done well if you bother to balance it,problem is,anomaly really doesnt

if you wisgh to have every single weapon have each part which can then be interchanged and all these secular separated items that act as satelites that buff the repair factor youll have to intentionally stop yourself from adding too much weapons or you run into the issue that anything you find will not be useful for you which ends up with many Anomaly runs completely ignoring the repair mechanic bc,its too much work and the alternative is much easier and isnt that much costier

you can fix this,by heavely streamlining and simplifying the repair system by removing bloat

problem with repair system is how much stuff you need, by the time you get all the required tools and kits the gun is usually outdated already and you can just buy and upgrade brand new western rifle

like I said,by heavely streamlining the repair items by making it so weapons dont need specific parts or every part is normalized under (assault rifle trigger) for example you could easely shift the entire attention more towards repairing your own weapons by finding parts in the wild
which is what Anomaly wants you to do

you do have a lot of avenues depending on what endpoint the creator wants
