iirc all three commercial games had their assets packed into archives

Kinda like Doom 3 has stuff in .pk3 files which are just renamed zip archives

unpacking them reduces loading times as well

When a loose file is found, for example from a mod, it loads after and thus overwrites the archive stuff

best to unpack all of it, move the archives to a seperate location as backup and create a text file where you document every single change

or use something like WinMerge or https://diffchecker.com to compare a vanilla file to a modded one so you learn what does what

Hi! Anyone managed to mod CoP having Absolute Nature/Buildings, atmosfear mods AND any of the Weapon overhaul mods? Tried both Gunslinger or Arsenal overhaul, but either it crashes, or I cannot save for some reason (google suggests that it is because the 32 bit engines memory gest overloaded or something along those lines)

Idk if you tried it yet , but if you want a harder , grimmer , and generally scarier experience I suggest trying dead air (revolution add on is especially great) , there’s an easily hardest , yet one of the most immersive mods out there called NLC 7 , a lot of people whine about how hard it is , but from my general experience of playing through it 2 times , it’s an unforgettable experience , the story is an reinterpretation of original soc , some of it major pluses for me is , very slow paced gameplay , great a-live system , and a lot of decisions which makes an open story line a lot more interesting + it’s really long , so even binge playing through will take at least a weak

Although it has some minuses - generally hard quests (using guides is a must) , ability to break the game , if you do some important quests wrong and it has no proper eng subs , which can make the game harder , since sometimes you just , won’t understand what does the game want from you .
A lot of people hate it , and I don’t judge them , but I think it’s worth a try ( I suggest trying version 3.0 , since it’s the easiest , while still being hardcore) gl in finding your true stalker experience , it might be some there out there , you just have to keep looking ✊

and that causes a conflict and crash

if you can reproduce it with a 100% reproduction rate then you should either uninstall and reinstall or just give up with the mod

since even if it has a "return to vanilla" button theres always stuff that cannot be undone and you may need a fresh install

well your saves will probably have the stuff that corrupted the whole thing

so you may download the mod again and then load the save and cause the mod to load those conflicting chunks of scripts or whatever and may get you back at square 1

you could simply copy the files somwhere else and delete the saves and try to reproduce the whole thing again

I'm giving you very generic answers, if you really want to deal with it you may need to find someone who actually codes and worked in big mods for troubleshoot

i accepted a mission i have to kill sidorovich but i accepted another mission to make an effigy of sidorovich's head i went to Shura Gynecologist to accept this mission in the additional information where can i do this chapter i have to go to Filin to talk about this for sidorovich's head i have to go to the place where i circled it in red i go there it's not there i went around the whole map to see if it's somewhere else even though it's sitting there i watched all the people on youtube who went through this mission they all did the same thing they went in this place and they talked to Filin and he was there with nothing different to do I am going there for several days I have been trying to solve this problem and other people have this problem but no one says anything how to fix it please help because because of this mission I can't continue my game
