hey all. i’d love some potential help i’m trying to figure out. so i’ve installed the mod titled “Remake 3” which is just some major graphical overhauls etc, nothing vanilla changing to my knowledge. so, my problem is i’m getting really low fps in a good hangul of areas, even reaching 10 fps. i’m extremely confused because my pc specs are: Ryzen 7 3700x 8 core @ 4.3 ghz, a 3070 ti, and 16gb ram DDR6. if anyone could potentially help me that has installed that similar mod before please @ me and potentially lend some help! ty!

Desolation is nice but it comes as a complete overhaul- you can’t pick and choose aspects of it as easily.

IE if you don’t want magazines or you want them to load really fast good luck.

So I usually run a combination of BaS, Blindside’s reanims, awar, mags redux, etc etc

It makes vanilla guns nicer and adds all the cool EFT models.

my only complain about BaS is that you need to upgrade guns in a certain way

or you can end up with a gun that you can't slap a suppressor with

like, you use one of those kits that has an integrated suppressor and then upgrade the gun at the mechanic the suppressor gets removed and in certain cases cannot be re-attached

My complaint with BaS is that the M4s in it aren’t my specific preference down to the barrel profile.

It could be improved but the guns are a lot nicer than vanilla.

Aside from perhaps the taste in guns that the mod adds, I don’t get why it’s so polarizing. But even then, eh, how is a PEQ-15 too tacticool and advanced for a game with exoskeletons and magic rocks?

Generally speaking anything that can't be fixed right in the field is not worth having on your gun

There is still problems that I’m noticing, the Helios Spawn Menu doesn’t pop up when I click F2 and i found a file without .rar but when I look at the file type it says “RAR” And I’m not sure why but is it because F2 on my laptop is supposed to decrease volume, I can’t seem to find where to download a file without .rar and I’ve double clicked on a .rar file to make sure or is the file outdated? The latest one I can find is 1.3.

Upon unpacking if it asks you if you want to replace anything, say yes. Make a copy of the files that are supposed to be replaced beforehand in case anything goes wrong.

you cant use the starter pack with any of the others btw,
Absolute Nature cahnges the flora of the zone and ZRP is currently the most vanilla merged bug removing mod,altho it still cahnges the base game making it not vannila

just open the games folder and open the file named fsgame.ltx and find the line called game_data and switch the false with a true
then copy the mods into the game folder
either starter pack or ZRP with Absolute nature and structures
if a mod isnt explecitly said to be compatible assume its not,I know ZRP and both Absolute nature mods are compatible with themselves and thats waht I recommend

Got a question 🙂 I am new to stalker and have poked around with modpacks a few months ago. I decided to try out EFP 3.0, and while I had fun, it didn't keep me playing for too long. I wanted to take another crack at it and was looking for modpack suggestions. I hear there is EFP 4.0 now, and also folks are talking about gamma a lot. I've looked up some reviews comparing the two and people seem to love both. Gamma sounds very interesting, but as a new player I'm not sure if it would be wise to start with that one as it seems to be based around crafting which would require quite a bit of game knowledge I'd assume. What are yall's thoughts?

I just downloaded Atmosfear3, absolute nature 4, absolute structure, OWR3 and Absolute scopes for Stalker COP and my game crashes when I start a new game, so I click the difficulty button, get a loading screen for a second or 2 and the game crashes without any error. I am pretty sure I installed everything perfecctly. Do any of these mods not work at all? or is there some ingame setting that causes crashes? running it on DX10 btw

Hi all, I have a general question. How hard it is, and how time consuming to make a relatively simple mod, lets say for Anomaly for example, but not necessarily?
I have a background in 3D modelling and animation so asset creation wouldn't be a problem, and the mod I have in mind won't have any systems or new game functions, more like a building with some specific effects on the player when he\she is inside. to keep it short - does the old Lua version (5.1?) used in StCo... support such thing like multiple inheritance? (afaik C++ does, Java doesn't, just as an example)...

ONLY IF YOU'RE INTERESTED:
Practical background of my question/interest in mult.inheritance: I never understood why in many config-sections the Devs repeat to write for each single item (!!), best example are all weapon files, the same lines with same values (default_to_ruck = false; afaik ONLY artefacts are set as "true", afaik every item has "discovered_dependency =" without any assigned value, and so on) so I am trying to trim the code by creating additional sections for f.e. those two definitions...this leads to serious bugs (random crashes without any info, piles of anim_objects, CSky-camper sit after 30 min playtime on 5 guitars with 3-10 bread/sausage-sticks around them...had some out-of-memory-crashes already as 32-bit-apps are limited to ~4(?) GB of RAM even if your system has 1-3x of that amount unused...

And with 4 GB RAM with endless add-ons (CotZ is CoC+DrX+3rd-party-addons as you everybody know)...it really makes sense to code like in the 80s/90s, i.e. without wasting (not once, but hey, on almost EACH item!) any RAM space which also is a "guard" of the stability of the game/mod you play...

The second question was: Two calibres, 5.7x28mm (FN Five-Seven + P90) and even more absurd in my eyes, the ammo for MP7 are...well SMGs and even more pistols become pretty fast obsolete. Stashes with such ammo are barely worth looting as it's rare, but cheap. Although I like MP7 but cutting it wouldn't hurt as there are tons of Russian (I even forgot to check Ukrainian-produced ones after their indepedence after the commies finally gave up, shame on me) weapons to replace Five-Seven pistol or MP7 with some Russian Pistol/SMG. But P90 I'd miss. The team of SGM 2.2 just made both SMGs using 9x19 (btw they had 3 instead of 2 classes for 9x18/9x19 and assault rifle cal. ammo subtypes which I really liked), I did the same to get rid of these two calibres (5.7x?? and the only fitting to MP7. I prefer to keep realism and gameplay balanced, I am okay with some explanation of "due to ammo shortage technicians rechambered..." - you got it. What is your opinion about such approach? Btw already made after some reaearch third ammo subtypes for different calibres, so it's not about make modding easy and destroy the work of others - in this case the work of the AO3 team...

if you can go to gamedata->configs -> misc( or items or whatever), look for questitems.ltx, you should find "Dropable = false" change it to true.
you need to make this for most if not all the items in that file.

Hey, first-time poster long time S.T.A.L.K.E.R. enjoyer

So a bit of context: I started playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. sometime around 2014 and have spent an insane amount of hours on it(I'm sure everyone can relate), particularly on SoC.
Well recently my installation decided to die completely unprompted, I haven't changed a single file for years. So I tried to fix it to no avail, I ended up deciding on just reinstalling everything, the problem is I don't remember what mod/modpack(I'm not sure) I was using.

The only things I have to go off are that this music[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDCNlqMgnvo] played on the main menu, the launcher icon looked like this[https://imgur.com/QtvOFNB] and when the game launched an image of some statue holding a boulder(?! I think) briefly appeared, also as far as I remember the mod/modpack was only for graphical improvements.

Additional info: I tried to find the mod/modpack myself and tried OGSE[https://www.moddb.com/mods/old-good-stalker-evolution] and Autumn Aurora[https://www.moddb.com/mods/autumn-aurora-compilation-mod] because I remembered downloading them back in the day but that's not it

OGSR is old good stalker remaster and it runs on a homebrew OGSR engine,it fixes a lotta stuff from OGSE

if you do try, running as admin, running in compatibility mode, running with different directx versions, try lowering your graphics, check your virtual memory, check that you don't have anything but the base mod installed, people like thinking anomaly runs with literally everyhing but it doesn't
