Most of Anomaly's performance loss comes the massive maps. Sometimes running on high settings actually increases your performance because the lower the settings the more load goes on your CPU.

Anomaly is the most controversial STALKER mod ever since release of 1.5.1 because people have been calling it somewhat related to Escape From Tarkov because some fat ass from California made an addon about it and now people are saying it's like Tarkov when LITERALLY it was based off Misery
Anomaly made people miss out so much on the OG games it's stupid, I bet even the creators are ashamed of that
To be honest, people will say Anomaly is good only with mods and I am those people, don't bother installing addonpacks, they're worthless (in my perspective) or try atleast G.A.M.M.A. addonpack

actually it does alter gameplay, a lot of times it's so dense you can't see 20 meters ahead of you, but at the same time AI also gets hindered during fog

I like it that way, makes the zone a lot scarier and formidable

it looks cool I suppose. I feel like full fields of grass don't fit some settings of stalker like that.
my only gripe is that it's not smooth, the grass looks distracting (at least for me)

I think the lack of shadows might be what's distracting for me, it's just too bright and in your face
