You have to go through a certain location in Pripyat to get to it, and/or a main quest (Haven’t been there myself before the quest, so I’m not sure if it needs/can be bypassed)

thats a stash at the generators. stashes are sometimes unlocked at random, so sometimes it shows a location thats at the generators

all of hte current map is currently unlocked by just following hte main story. generators are only accessable at the final mission "point of no return". its literally the point of no return. once you start the final mission, its literally the final mission

its presumed that stuff will get unlocked in the future. like the iron forest, which magically moved its location from zaton to south of the reactors. and the reactors themselves could get unlocked. maybe some unfinished business with c-conciousness. or another mad scientist who wants to continue c-con's legacy

of course, if we look at the real life map of pripyat, there could still be an entire area north of the generators, that is left untouched.

So these are some of the models from the SIRCAA facility that I have seen randomly be spawned in teams with scientists in them. I saw a team of ecologists in suits with one of these lab coat dudes among them out in the wild just walking along like that was totally normal. I encountered a group of mercs and ecologists during an emission early in the game, just after leaving Lesser Zone, and we all took shelter in the same building. One of them had the tie and suit pants with no other protection. I thought he was important, but when I talked to him he gave me an arrogant bit about being more important than a Stalker bc he was a scientist.

Well, it's not a secret that the game was rushed and haven't had a chance to be properly tested and optimized.
You may try some optimization mods from nexus, but most of the performance issues can only be fixed by devs themselves.

So yeah, if it spawns a dozen of NPC every time than something is very wrong with your game.

This issue stems from how high they have the spawn counts for certain scenarios and also Lairs... some lairs have up to 10 NPC AI spawn in a lair to clash against 7 scenario spawns making the total 17 NPC fighting at once.. a bit overkill in the small render distance.

2 of roosevelt's men who stands not too far away from the entrance to main building are bugged and they become hostile no matter what... and when they start shooting at me, everyone else follows them then... and i dont even need to go into the building, which ofc makes sense that if i enter they become hostile. this didnt happen the very first time i was there. needs fixing.
EDIT: just realized that everytime i enter the place some random friendly npcs spawns behind me and starts shooting at these bandits here and they become hostile at me and them at the same time. wtf..

I hate the discourse around the game and part of it is that, as pretentious as it probably sounds, I think a lot of people are just pissed they can't run it. Like, if it were any other game then yeah I wouldn't bat an eye at people saying "unreal 5 is killing gaming" and "realism is lazy" or whatever, but for stalker those points fall flat on their face because there was no other option. Like, what else were they going to do with the graphics? Cel-shaded borderlands visuals? Just not upgrade them at all? Like, in what universe were GSC not going to go as hard with the graphics as they possibly could? Anything else would have just been a missed opportunity, which I'm sure the same people complaining about the current graphics would have complained about too. There are some gameplay issues, like I wish there was a way to repair my weapons on the go, and that maybe the ammo/money economy was a little less cruel, and that I could rotate items in my backpack, but other than that it's the best new stalker game we could have hoped for, and the best part is anything the devs don't add officially will be added by modders eventually, especially considering that it's an unreal game which if I recall correctly, is super easy to mod.

The funny thing is, I was worried I wouldn't be able to run it either, but I get like 100+ fps in most areas, with my only big dips being in towns and during emissions/heavy storms

quick TSR vs DLSS 4 video I did comparing the quality of the veles detector and damn DLSS 4 definitely looks better

overall every texture looks crispier
his gloves, the buttons on the detecter, the text etc

also nvidia frame gen was on
theres less ghosting on the display compared to tsr with frame gen

also only issue ive noticed really is there is a lot of noise on weapons / puddles when moving while it is raining but again this is a rather early version of dlss 4 (I assume) since the actual drivers / dlss 4 release is on the 30th of January. I took the dll's out of 2077's folder since the game got an update today which added DLSS 4 early
