That's not an easy task for a new player. However, you can try to reach an aim point from the back and shoot it in order to push it further.
That's a nightstar which is considered rare.

You can also save, and try to reach the furthest you can just to know how far it is. Then make a run for it, and try to not get hit more than two times before you back off. You'll need a medkit or two for that, so make them count.

well i use He With Me addon. Basically,if you had companion that from Freedom faction but you enter Duty area. They will neutral with them and not shoot on sight. Theres also addon called Fight My Foes that make companion attack toward enemy they shoot you.
