the biggest things with the mercs is their masks and vests. they are very 1980-1990s american in style, vests having a lot more emphasis on carrying gear rather then protection.

think crossdraw holsters, shoulder radios, and fitted pouches intended for specific items.

eastern european gear usually has more generic pouches that could fit lots of different things each.

The biggest thing you can do for an outfit is rough it up a bit.

tie a rope to it and drag it through the mud and across gravel. letting dirt dry on to it. after washing it and repeating a few times it really helps to take away its new item feel and even fades the colors a little bit.

you can also use bleach or the sun to fade some color but i wouldn't recomend it , its hard to make look natural unless you had a manequin to put it on in your garden (light hits our clothing from above and the sides)
