hey, im thinking about filming some stalker edits, can i get some recommendations of ukrainian depression/stalkervibe/motivational type music or track for it? I dont want to use any russian songs (that im very familiar with) bc its not what i want to do with these edits specifically. first idea was just a white noise/hum that builds up and in the end it'll be a single high piano note, but i wanted a bit more action with the sound.

I have a question. It has to do with fan art so to speak. In a TTRPG with STALKER elements. Would it seem better that your character has to roll a perception check to see what anomalies are in an area? Or should It just be revealed on the map as soon as they enter? The OG story describes many anomalies as things you cant see untill its too late. Whereas the games give you hints at the very least.

Tldr; dont worry about asbestos, you can just not use the filters if you really worry

The belt itself has no cushioning, the water bottle supposedely makes the water taste bad, the pouches are a pain in the ass to open and stuff like that. Its just not adequate in my opinion.

The mag pouches can hold three mags at the cost of it being clumsy to open quickly, I don’t have as much problem with the securing hooks but people often saying they dig into their waist, but I would say the Alice webbing is better then Soviet canvas webbing

i think having a 1l metal bottle or 2 would be the best. In my opinion velcro pouches seem like the best type. They are still quick to open but dont allow mud and stuff to get into your mags. Though i wouldnt be able to judge other pouches since i dont own other types.

What my battlebelt/LBE currently looks like. It can carry 3x 30 round magazines and 3x 20 round magazines. It has a IFAK pouch and a pouch for a turniquet + clothing scissors. Water bottles, headphones, gloves and maybe a snack can be stored in the rear cargo pouch. I also have a pepper spray pouch because i plan on carrying this in the woods but its something you probably wouldnt take into the zone. I will probably have to rearange the pouches a bit more so its fully balanced.

Those provides more thermal insulation so better in the cold, but in summertime youre gonna heat up fast
Just picking one or two sizes bigger also works, but not in a 1:1 "padded" idea. It gives more of a gorka appearance, no insulation, just a wind breaking/air trapping suit

do be wary of the fabric you're ironing onto though, it doesn't usually stick well to heavier synthetic fabrics

it's also generally not as solid as sewn-on patches since it's basically glue, but it is a valid option
and definitely easier than sewing

do some research as well if you're wanting more nuanced/detailed info

I just sewed my patches on, all you need is a needle and thread for a budget, it's really easy to do and took me an hour and a half and I have minimal/no sewing experience. It's sloppy, but nobody will ever notice unless they try ripping the patch off, all you really need to do is keep it secured. I wouldn't trust glue as much honestly

Honestly, best place to start is a rookie Loner or Bandit with some more muted tone jeans, and a well worn jacket that matches the vibes and tone of other stalkers, like khaki or a drab green (black leather jackets for bandits is a classic too)

Thrift stores are the absolute best places for these kinds of things. They're already pre-worn in so that they have authentic weathering, and they're way cheaper than buying brand new clothing. It's pretty easy to find the right stuff, just need a bit of luck and patience!

As for gear, older military surplus stuff is pretty easy to come buy if you look in the right places, just do some research online or look for nearby surplus stores and whatnot, and choose something that would fit your character/loadout. Just don't be that guy that buys stuff that doesn't fit the STALKER vibes, like a cheap JPC knockoff or something lol

I've been thinking about making a video on doing beginner stalker cosplays, starting with a few different outfit examples. I'll probably eventually do one in the near future since I've been wanting to make some kinda videos for a long time, but until then I'd recommend checking out StarionCostume's video on this topic!

Go watch Project Spark's video on soviet filters, i believe they have the most informative view on it.
The host there says he uses undamaged filters since the asbestos is in the large particle portion of the filter, and then the small particle portion of the filter is made for exactly what asbestos might be.
Then again, regulations for "dangerous" asbestos crystal sizes are way too loose and "safe" asbestos size still causes health problems.
He closes up the video with saying its everyone's personal health decision.
I just drilled out the insides of the filter in a safe enviromnment, yet to cover it up as the filter is just a can with no bottom now

I improved my STALKER AK clone. Got a more accurate shade of green paint, added a Texas Precision Optics PSO scope and picatinny rail that allowed me to include a sling and light. The only other thing I could think of to add is either a bayonet or one of the airsoft GP-25 grenade launchers.

I also bought a Swiss SM-90 off of ricardo.ch for a Major Degtyarev cosplay. It’s on the PC version of the game’s cover art.
