In many cultures, a man’s hair represented his honor and status; cutting it off was a sign of humiliation and being stripped of his rank. In this AU, he loses his 'Valyrian' status before becoming the survivor we know. It’s a lot more hardcore than you think

"Viper tactical skeleton harness" This battlebelt is pretty good so far. You are able to go prone and crouch without issue. It would probably be a good idea to add padding to the shoulder area. Pic 2 is how much space you have if you need to wear a sizable backpack. I dont know comfortable it is for long-term wearing yet.

It would probably be a good idea to wear this in combination with a chest rig and have lighter stuff like IFAK, artifacts, a walkie talkie etc on that and carry heavy things like magazines and water on the battlebelt.

Another benefit is that it makes the wearer look bigger and scarier (imo).

@young adder Video of function on my 1st wave, just plugged in and even without using the foam as you bring the artifact closer to the center of the base with the magnet will want to pull itself into place, and you can hear this sort of squeak when it's in the right spot just need to pull away smoothly.

Also at the beginning of the video I was focusing on that seeming heat damage to the base where the electromagnet lies underneath, can slightly make out the 4 small circles presumably of some similar setup beneath as this lamp. It hasn't seemed to affect the function whatsoever, but has certainly made me more aware to not just leave it running. Gets pretty warm to the touch up there, and I can see how having the foam in between or closing it would introduce issues

Yep this one is from u/Nikola502 on reddit also known as Prospectlabs.se (unfortunately site is down for maintenance rn?) and it was hard to bite that bullet was certainly not cheap lol, but the Bear especially is my favorite I just had to have it. Was ecstatic to see how much effort he put into this after following along with his post about making a prop of a different bear detector that was fully 3D printed & simpler (https://www.reddit.com/r/stalker/s/ruElj0u5K9) and then taking some of that feedback as a challenge to actually make one with electronics inside (https://www.reddit.com/r/stalker/s/PKI07PziXk) It seems he only made an initial batch of 10 units, though I did see he made a comment to somebody on different post about whipping another up for them whether he had more in stock or not, so it may be worth reaching out to him

I had a case and antenna printed in resin so its super smooth. But its effectively just an empty project box as I have NO idea how to do any of the wiring or screens. Someday Ill find someone to build it for me.

Not sure if table top rpgs are considered "fanart" but I didn't know where else to put this. I've been working on a rules set for STALKER role playing for a while now. One of my main goals was to have a super simple version with the aim being anyone, in any situation, can roll some dice and make up some stories in the zone. So here's the simple rules version, all you need is 2d6 (two six sided dice), the most common dice found in many board games:
There are 3 stats: Body, Mind, Personality
You get 3, 2, 1, to assign to these stats (for example 3 Body, 2 Mind, 1 Personality)
Any action that carries penalty for failure requires a stat roll of 2d6, adding the numbers together.
The target goal is always 7+, lucky number 7, and it gives you a little more that 50% to succeed if unhindered.
The zone is an unforgiving place, though, and any number of circumstances can give you a penalty to the roll.
The storyteller determines the penalty depending on the situation and you subtract this number from your roll.
If you roll 6 or under, or the penalty brings your roll below 7, you fail. A roll of 2 (double 1s) always fails, a roll of 12 (double 6s) always succeeds.
You have a number of chances to roll based on your stat. So a stat of 1 means you only have that one roll to get 7+. A 2 lets you reroll once if the first roll fails. A 3 gives you two reroll chances.

That's it, everything else is up to the storyteller and players. This is meant to be a loose rule set, very theater of the mind. Have fun with it.

So I got the CE when it first came out and the recent batch last week. There is a functional difference between the two Artifact Lamps

Most notable are the two working dials with one controlling the volume of sound with a speaker thats in its base and the other controlling on/off

Both have speaker holes at the base. So I am guessing the few things were cut to get the 1st batch out of the door on time.

Thanks for the comparison! Haven't seen anyone show off the radiation sound yet and huh I guess it's not what I expected, thought it would be a geiger counter click or anomaly detector beep. Lol I'm honestly more bummed about the lack of a power switch because I've just been unplugging mine when not in use, but generally have to agree with you that it's one of the nicest collector's editions seen and generally still pleased with it, though it's unfortunate that happened with the first wave.

Beyond the inclusion of those & some minor stylistic differences, is there anything to note about apparent different function or anything like that? I have been using mine since launch regularly without issue, though I've definitely noticed some slight heat warping in the base from the electromagnet so I try not to leave it on for extended periods now. Doesn't affect usage

Word yep, and not sure how well it functions like that but two things I've seen people mention ruining the lamp are running it with the foam helper in place & closing it any while warm (also potentially with the ball & foam stored in there) so I have just left mine up. After getting a good feel for it, you won't need the foam to place the ball anymore so I merely use it as a stand so the ball doesn't roll away on my desk when it's not in use. I wouldn't advise storing the ball just sat atop the base either with or without the foam; not sure if there's any potential harm to the electromagnet, but it's pretty hefty and I imagine those tabs are plastic when you twist it clockwise to lock.

Side note. I like the prospect of sin and think it fits well with the franchise. I just also see too many people dogging on it. I guess GSC didnt want another faction with the whole "religious" feeling to overshadow Monolith. It could be like 2 sides of a coin. Mono worships the zone. Sin wants vengeance for the wrongs done to them by the zone creators.

Its complicated, the way we do it is sin and mo olith have (or will have after this game) a tenuous alliance

Sin was a concept earlier than Monolith, Sin was discarded for being too ridiculous

Based off our read of the lore it seems like the sin guys are zombies with agency, but instead of being slaves to the monolith were slaves to a controller.

In game that works out to a basic alliance but if the controller shows up it gets interesting. Also also mutants arent controlled or allied to sin, they are both just extensions of the controllers will. I did a whole write up for the rules for the sin guys for our next game

Long term once we have more numbers were gunna incorporate quests and stuff for the other factions to do. Do rituals at set times and the admins can run some duty missions for recon/photography missions, also potentially crucify a captive (obviously not actually hurt anybody, but monolith has a similair thing where you can get captured and have a fun roleplay oppurtunity as the victim)

Well see going forward. Its important to see this through the lense of blank fire/reenactment, less airsoft or larp. Everyone here is drinking age, half of them are military, and everyone wants it to be as real as they can make it.

I designed a 3D printable part so the aluminium mounting block for the bipod doesnt bear all the weight. It goes between the bipod front near the legs and barrel, so some load is transferred to the barrel.

I also got dogpiled on their FB group by a bunch of people with the mantra of "People have trauma and could get scared seeing your military getup"
