DIY fakelite! (fake bakelite)
the flat boring polymer on the E&L AKs just wasn't doing it for me, so I tried something that I've wanted to do for a while. For a first time, I'm very happy with the results!

And just yesterday, I moved onto the grip as well. Just finished staining it a few minutes ago, so once it's completely dry I'll clearcoat it and we'll see how it looks tomorrow!

good call, though not every nato filter will screw into a gost mask (sometimes you can brute force it, but it varies from mask to mask, as both nato and gost are 40mm but have slightly different threads), you can try and get a polish FP-5 filter, which is designed to readily screw in both

you can also just use a cloth facemask or a balaclava instead of a gasmask

I have one of these, they're great for a generic respirator for intermediate or rookie kits, but don't expect to be able to aim at all

especially with filters, you just kind of have to point shoot. But if you're just using it for cosplay, they're fine, and you can usually find them used for decent prices

Those are Firefighters SCBA Mask. They don’t filter out radiation. All it does is give in oxygen to the personal. I know this personally because I’m a volunteer Firefighter. I don’t know if you’re going for authentic. But try the M50 gas mask or CM-7M

Just to let you know @nova comet. the blastmask is only for Training purposes. What it does it. Not really regulated oxygen. But cuts oxygen in half in a way. So you be breathing harder. It is a Cyma replica of the AK47. Unfortunately, to my knowledge, the original ak47 didn’t make its way into the zone : it is so rare and expensive to have one in a functional state today, that even rich collectors are having a hard time finding it.

An AKM/AKMS would be appropriated in 7.62. In 5.45, AKSU, AK-74S/N/M would do the job.

As for the plate carrier, imho, the fit doesn’t suit the monolitian soldier aesthetic.
Still a very cool impression though, keep it up

I just put together what ever gear I had on me. I had the uniform when I went for camping in the snow. I had it before I even know what was Stalker was. And for the rig. I had that too for years. E&L or LCT is your best bet if you can upgrade it yourself. It has steel stamped receivers (basically the same as the real deal). Cyma platinium does a good job too if you wanna do monolith (only platinium series, the basic Cyma series isn’t that good for the price)

If you want to try to simplify things... maybe try to limit yourself by space, by drawing on small canvas (and resist the urge to zoom in xP). For example, my sketchbook here is A5, so it's relatively small, which means I simply have no choice but to keep things simple.

The Chemical field I used for reference was the one in garbage XD While story wise he would still be close to red forest. And (spoiler) there will be Yaniv because one of the Promt words is "Station" and that just screams Yaniv but I think there were no stalkers at Yaniv when Clear Sky was still around....
