its a washed out MM14

keep in mind different manufacturers may vary in shade, and also the durability of the dye

and Im not well versed enough in ukrainian military gear to tell if thats an army issue combat shirt or a commercial product

but it is for sure in ukrainian MM14

still a very good camo for semi-arid/steppe environment, though might stick out in more lush foliage (but again so does multicam for example)

Started painting my Miniatures from the Boardgame after the last Box arived, I am a bit rusty but the little Doggo turned out quite neat

Hey bro, let me know if I can try to describe it in better detail or with more pics but they are pretty long considering they just go around circumference of arm & the band is around 7 in to the clasp as I'm wearing them, but do take note not only are they adjustable with your typical strap adjust but they also stretch a good bit. Also do consider that the shoulder pads are unique vs the elbow/knee and instead of having two bands that go around, It is secured by a single one and then a different vertical velcro loop band that attaches in my case directly to the Sunrise suit chest

As someone who is absolutely novice to figure painting especially at such scale, do you have any like particular products or tips you really would recommend? I've been thinking about painting my board game figures too but don't want to likely end up doing a miserable job and regretting not just leaving them sundrop lolol

If you haven't done something on this scale, get some inexpensive minifigs to practice a bit maybe before you do "the important pieces", go for Ebay or 3D prints to just get a feel for it.

I used a wet pallet and size 0 and a 5/0 and for the eyes a 10/0 brush.
The maker is not that important, I have a set of davinci synthetic brushes and one random Amazon brand one.
I used colours I had so a wild mix from some Citadel, Army Painter, Valleyo and Two Thin Coats. All of them are alright.
I would recommend not buying anything Citadel because their tools, brushes etc. are way overprized and sometimes realy bad quality. Their paints are alright but the pots require more maintenance then the usual dropper bottles or your paint will dry out.

Other then that? Basicly watching some painting tutorials by the old legend Duncan Rhodes (or whoever speaks more to you) and a bit of practice and you will be fine.

If you wanna know some specific I will be happy to answer.

One general tip I have, go for the biggest brush that is suited for the application, if you water down your paint right it will not glob up all the details and you can layer them neatly over each other.
I used the size 0 brush for 90% of the moddel because everything on the dog got the same base colour anyway and then I layered the white for example over it with the 5/0.
the 10/0 was just for little touchups and getting the little dots in the eye just right.
Taking the biggest brush just saves time

The way I do it is I find the cammo pattern and slap it on my character. Add volume, adjust color and effects

Well I just used liquify pen. Tho.. mostly I don't, I like to make it look flat. But if you want it to look more life-like. Usually I figure out folds of the fabric depending on the material then liquify accordingly to the fabric or use lasso tool to move around

Surpisingly no! The files were made for Gen 2 E&L AKSU, but i happened to have an Essential series. The creator didnt know they had that big differences between the generations

The stock pin goes in the other way, upper handguard shape was changed, the lower handguard replament didnt fit... the only drop-on part was the muzzle grip, and that was "once its on, its on!" deal. Disassembly broke that part. We tried to develop a working kit but i ran out of project money before i got fitting parts

Anyway, last times with this belt rig, soon its gonna travel halfway across the world to meet its new owner... at least im getting something good in trade

you can buy a polish MP-5 mask filter, that has a dual thread, that fits both NATO 40mm and soviet GOST threads

i think theyre called fp-5

and theyre safe to breathe through, even expired (just not protective anymore then)

The Soviet filter would have to be damaged severely in order for you to inhale asbestos fibers. It's usually a dual layer system, which means it also contains charcoal. So not only would the asbestos layer have to be damaged, but the charcoal filter would also have to be compromised or extremely wet.

Tldr I wouldn't risk it for cosplay reasons, but there's no documented cases of illness from asbestos based mask filters. Only cases that exist revolve around manufacturing of said filters.

If there's ever an actual reason for you to use a mask & the only filter you have is asbestos, you'd be fine using it.

It was a normal practice for Soviet/Russian troops in Afghanistan or Chechnya (I think it’s still done today) to wrap tourniquets around the stock of your AK, as a improvised cheek-Pat

They also did it because they wanted to keep the tourniquet close to them for easy access… but that didn’t work well cause the tourniquet just wore out or got dry and cracked

Thanks! I wanted to get one of the custom pad & pouch sets from Renegadecow on Etsy but didn’t have the cash for it at the time they had it available. Ended up just basing it off the old ACU style pad inserts. The top is too large and the pants are too slim so this was a practice run more than anything, and I needed to get it ready for an event in November

You can see a couple patches where I botched removing the bottom pockets and cut the shirt since it’s trash tier fabric
