M50’s the only obtainable gas mask atm that hardly fogs. Used it in 32°C for 5 hours straight without a single ounce of haze or anything. Maybe the slightest bit of inner lens condensation, but that’s something that happens with every gas mask. Plus the VPU on it makes it even more intimidating. Love mine personally.

Turns out. TAPP airsoft makes a dust cover with rail. But it would DEF rattle around a ton and its 3d printed. So it would be strictly for cosplay use. And since I live in a place where cons and con goers have literal group fits over anything that even resembles a prop firearm, its not worth the $60 lol.

it's really a matter of faking things to make them look right for the camera
is the hand of the model you're using poorly rigged and terrible looking? force it into contorted horrifying shapes that happen to line up nicely with the camera

is the light you have set up not casting the right rim lighting on your subject? just make a new light for that rim lighting and cut the distance off so it doesn't affect the rest of the scene

also knowing basic framing and visual story telling and whatnot helps but I have no idea how I'm not terrible at that so I can't help there

That’s its main inspiration. The M40 was designed as a response into the PMK’s manufacturing- in order to have Western masks utilizing external filters, as they were more globally used than the M17 and M17 filtered variants. There are some design comparisons between the PMK and the M45.. and I’ve always believed that the in game ones, whether the PA-7 or Mercenary Gas mask in the older games were almost a kitbash of both..

The Gas mask above lacks the canteen port thing every PMK, allowing it to look like a mix of the M40 as well. I love analyzing STALKER’s gear for the sole reason of pointing out things like that.

Some cost money, some are free, but there’s some detectors on there. Look up Prospect Labs on Cults 3D, his shit is incredible. If you know your hand around some electrical work, his stuffs easy to convert with some RF transmitters, Receivers, and LEDs to function pretty damn well.

You have to be pretty smart with them. The barrel shroud has NOTHING supporting the inner, so your accuracy will be abysmal. I have 3D printed inserts that hold it in place.

Asbestos is safe to handle by hand, just not swallow or inhale. That being said I wouldn't risk modifying a Soviet asbestos filter, there's a very high chance you won't get all of the particulate out.

Actually, Flecktarn has five distinct variants. Flecktarnmuster B is the original pattern from 1989.
