Ah yeah, so before 2016 Ukraine's Airborne was apart of the Ground Forces, which would certainly fit with the older TTsKO pattern on the uniform. Until about 2012 the airborne were called the "Airmobile Forces" and then got changed to the "High Mobility Landing Forces" which it kept until 2017 when they got the modern glow-up to the Air Assault Forces (DShV)

Gotcha, yeah it’s a much older uniform, the manufacture date is in 2002. Interesting history behind the Ukrainian Airborne, I have an СД-1 coming in that will be the main LBV and I’ll put on new faction patches after carefully removing the old ones.

I'd like fix up the screw metallics and paint up the bottom button and side dial black. Maybe wrap the grip with grip tape/hockey tape because trying to paint the actual texture panels would just be for naught after holding it for more than hour.

But it's held in place by a magnet, so I can't give it too much gusto. I filed down some bumpy sections on the antenna to make it smoother to retract but unfortauntely the idea of maybe making something spring loaded to spit the antenna out is moot because there's no room in that grip.

Also, still working on kit. I kind of want to make a lore friendly 'what would a real life STALKER kit be' but I'm also trying to make a Sunrise suit.

Still need a good way to hang the detector off the belt/store it.

Sportsman's Guide has some okay selection for surplus. If you want a surplus filter, the OD Israeli ones look right.

For a modern mask, MSA Milleniums are in an okay spot price wise.

Or you can opt for a 3D printed dummy filter.

Belgian surplus filters are pretty cheap and look right.

Also, no Asbestos in any of those.

alright, that helps me a bit already. There are a lot of people using plate carriers for STALKER cosplays, so if you want to you can use that
bigger question is what style/type the carrier is, it may not fit with the rest at all

also, do you have any idea of what Faction you would like to be or how experienced the STALKER character would be? as in, if he is a rookie stalker, he should have a pistol or smg, more experienced and we get into bigger weaponry and cooler armor

you can prob find many that look close, and if you modify one youre gonna be 100 right on the money but, you dont need to 1:1 recreate the model

in terms of headgear, the easiest is just a balaclava, gas masks are a bit difficult and in an airsoft game they are very disabling

I do really like the look of drop leg pouches, but like Stalvar said it does depend on what you’re going for. Works better when you’re cosplaying a proper suit and not some rookie or bandit with a jacket.

hey, wanted to ask about "practicality" since you got experience with an RPK model
How does the thing feel compared to a normal length AK (well, compared to a Yugo AK like you got)
if you care about the practical side of things at all of course😂
havent realised the benefits/disadvantages (weight is obvious) entirely, might be a good question to ask
i would say in the context of general shooting practice and actual shooting skill development

Well because of the heavier weight, the recoil is negligible compared to normal AKs. But the downside is that it’s quite hard to shoulder for extended amounts of time. Thicker barrel means you can run more rounds through it without overheating. Longer barrel means more velocity. I would not recommend an RPK as a “run and gun” weapon system unless you are an absolute chad. They are very accurate especially when using the bipod, not to mention very fun.

For US stalkers, look into a USGI Surplus Combat Vehicle Crewman (CVC) Vest, also known as a "chicken vest", it looks very similar to the Sunrise's vest but covers more area.

Smersh and 6Sh104? As far as I know, the 6Sh104 should be the military's version of the SSO/SPOSN Smersh, which was used by SF units.
The 6Sh104 specifically is in Flora camo and made for the military.
Its just that the info isn't matching up. I assume that it is a Smersh rather than a 6Sh104, based on the looks of it.
Can you please tell me how and where the 6Sh104 designation came from?
