Agreed man I haven't sprung for a collector's edition of anything since Fallout 4 Pip-Boy lol & I am so damn glad I did for this, they really pulled through! These are some very cool items and the quality is so much higher than what I guess I was anticipating, there's no part of me questioning the value after receiving it; you'd easily pay a couple hundred between the backpack, lamp, and statue alone If they were sold individually. All of the goodies are very cool and it was made with such care from the external box to each individual item being wrapped in a themed sleeve. Understandably with anything like this the community going to have their reservations & hesitations but I'm so glad to see that GSC really pulled through with this for us veteran stalkers bless the Wish Granter for this holy habar!

Its the camo pattern that most closely resembles the one freedom uses ingame

Slap a freedom patch on a German army grunt with the shittiest gear still in service and youll have what many people would refer to as a good freedom impression. (Flecktarn, belt rig and G36A1)

I would argue that TTsKO "Dubok" is a better fit than Flecktarn though

Freedom camo is literally flecktarn with a different color scheme
Except Guardian suits, which is like a cross between oversized Woodland, Flora and Les
And only the Exo uses something akin to dubok on the body armor while the uniform beneath it all resembles Czech woodland

Texture from arm sleeves for freedom suits in Call of Pripyat vs scanned fabric from a bundeswehr field shirt

But honestly, seeing freedom's western gear focus, if one is somehow unable to get flecktarn or woodland, western substitutes like british DPM, french CCE, danish Flecktarn or even portugese Lizard would find home with the faction

Which did find their way in shadow of chernobyl as extra multiplayer skins
Mercs got the flecktarn and m81 woodland, freedom got french cce and british dpm

HoC did a pretty great job for character design imo. You find things youll expect to find in a more modern environment, but its still very faithful to the original character designs

Black splotches on the ingame camo resemble the last ww2 german camo made, the leibermuster
Postwar the swiss adopted their own version, and the us army tested variants, which turned into erdl, which later became woodland
So it looks like a mix of all the stages of evolution, just on the small side and in urban colors

I cut down my parka and used remaining material to extend the pants, so I can tuck the parka into them and create the illusion of overalls, tighter fitting like ingame
And i used remaining material to make very wide belt loops so I can thread wide webbing belts
Clipping the vest on top of this makes for a tight and sturdy fit

Also AP can be overpriced so be careful, I would search northern pact on facebook for old surplus

it's a Czech industrial safety mask, the masks themselves and clear lenses are easily available here in the UK but only a couple shops in Europe and Australia+New Zealand have the other colours, I had to get this one from Finland

I could get cheaper masks with tinted visors and all but I specifically went for this as it's impact rated and safe for airsoft games and larps

I have a really old laptop that i modified so that it's used as cloud storage for the house.

Small question, since Freedom has a very hor8zontal hierarchy/structure very decentralized by its nature, would it make sense for some of them to use other camos than Flektarn? Harness and belt dont fit. However the overall design and aesthetic of the smersh is pretty damn similar. You may be able to replace the belt on the smersh for something like an ALICE belt (anything that fits) and youll be pretty close
