If you want to try KDE I would recommend trying Garuda if you don't mind running Arch-based distributions. It'll give you a good impression of what the DE can really do.

If someone is going to use an Arch (btw) distribution they should definitely be made aware of the rolling release model and how to properly compensate for that, i.e. reading the forums to determine if the new updates are stable or not, but that's really about it between choosing a debian-based or arch-based distro

This is a pre-release of 1.5. This is mainly for testing and feedback purposes. If you would like to play a stable version of the mod that has plenty of addon support, download 1.4.22 and it's patch. There is no official addon (ie. AO, OWR, STCOC) support, yet.

i mean, for those who don't feel like going on and translating a whole conversation in an unfamiliar language, it's quite important to enforce it so nobody gets too funky

as for the mod one, unfortunately some conversations happen out of their dedicated channels, and it's best to just let them go until they stop or until somebody with authority steps in and tells them the place they're chatting in is not the right one
