imo I think the original trilogy is great and can still hold up, went for the sandbox mode in anomaly and created a character who as the story progressed became a hunter for monolith’s.

When there was a place north of the map called “monolith war lab” I thought it would be great to finish my character’s story to go there and deal with them, turns out it’s not finished and when I cheated my way inside the place it was empty.

That along with the convoluted craftin stuff, radio, companions, fast travel, etc made me stopped playin.

Also no joke anomaly had way more bugs and crashed on me way more than any of the vanilla games, I’m actually strugglin to remember a crash that I had from a game other than anomaly
