Honestly: I barely had that problem because i always invest in radiation protection. But i am really tired of the whole grind in the game. Anomaly turned me away for a few reasons:

1. Early game balance is a mess. For instance, starter armors are useless and have equally wasteful upgrades, all while being expensive as hell. A Burner will just kill you in one hit, and it doesn't matter if you're in a hobo jacket or a 100K suit.
2. Factions are boring and black-and-white. When you pick Loner, you don't actually start off as someone with nothing to their name, whether good or bad. You're instead being immediately dragged into a faction war with Bandits, Mercs, Military and some extra factions, who will all shoot you on sight regardless of your reputation.
3. The crafting and repairs system is an annoying mess.
4. There aren't any side quests that are worth doing. Not in terms of reward, but in terms of content. It's like SoC/CS all over again. This makes the grind even more insufferable, and since the main quest is gated behind having good gear, you can't just skip the annoying stuff, either.

Started playing Clear Sky and it actually isnt that bad so far. To be fair, I'm only able to win gunfights at the moment cuz I'm working with The Clear Sky Faction. also, for your first play through in cs if you really want to be overpowered

there's a rare fire artifact that spawns in the burners and it gives you +20 to +35 bleeding and absolute demolishes your need for bandages, dont even bother with mamas beads just sell them but if you encounter a flame or eye put them on your belt bevause clear sky in the red forest and the areas past that will frustrate you and make you waste hours apon hours apon hours reloading saves bevause you didn't get enough bandages

i like to couple this with a snowflake,firefly (or kolobok) and a bubble and your set for the entire late game if you have a good set of armour because bleeding will make you ragequit most of the time, especially on a first play through

i like a gravi to, ill pack an upgraded gun and 2,000 rounds alone with maybe 5-6 medkit and be set for late game

your best bet in the garbage for a first playthrough is to join the loners do their missions, pick up the ak's you get from the military and sell them at the cordon as it's good early game money

and once you feel comfortable raid the bandit base, it'll take a few waves and many medkits but there's a locked door at the bottom of the base, the keys pretty easy to find and it usually has two really powerful artifacts and once your done with that you get a seva suit and 10,000 rubles

honestly that's the best advice i can give you

Clear sky came out after shadow of chernobyl and is designed in such a way that it assumes you played SOC and understand what’s changed and what’s alluding to new answers from story elements of SOC.
