Yes it does, the monolith is referred to as an illusion in the fact that it’s a monkeys paw. It physically absolutely exists though. It was manufactured to protect the C conscience and act as a distraction to anyone penetrating the Zones center
But @finite dragon makes a good point. Every wish made extends the perimeter of the zone and it begs the question of what happens to those who have their wishes granted. My opinion is they get scrambled by the monolith the same way they tried Scar at the end of clear sky

As far as the English mods go, you can ping Comrade Crimson, Edillon or Sean with no real worries of getting in trouble, so long as it's not spam. Most mods won't mind a ping, just don't do the entire role

They said the whole game would probably take about 100 hours before you seen everything, but that requires multiple playthroughs, so I would guess that the main campaign is probably 15 to 20 hours by itself
