I have a couple of questions about the game universe. I’m probably missing some details or haven’t gotten to the part of the game yet for it be explained. So is the Stalkers technically faction that had small factions within as the name suggests that we are a group of people. (I’m also still trying to figure out what exactly is a Stalker but have an idea of the actual definition). Second question is that it’s clear that the setting is sort of apocalyptic. Is it just da zone is like this or is the rest of the world like it as well

Yes - another thing I liked about stalker - it was a local apocalypse - creating very dynamic relation with the world. having mercs getting in, bandits sneaking in, smuglers etc. It was always way more interesting and alien to me than just another fallout/madmax

In stalker anomaly there is a lot same-ish AK47 models, and who cares about difference.
In stalker (any) there is a dozen of pistols, and you don't care almost of any of them.
Also you don't need 6 similar pump action shotguns (hello anomaly again)

Customization? I don't know really. For a particular weapon type you often choose optimal attachments. You don't put sniper scope on a shotgun or spray and pray SMG, you want that scope on a sniper rifle. and so on.

But don't worry, you will have a lot of weapons and customizations in stalker 2

This reminds me of old russian tales, where many characters are avatars of nature and they are chaotic in their alignment. Duty and Military. What do we know about them?
Military and Duty relationship isn't clear. Duty kills any contract coldier or conscript on sight. Duty's leader - Krylov - hated his old "colleagues", but he had contacts with spetsnaz. Zvyagintsev mentioned that their people saw some of the Duty members together.
