Cool little coincidence with bunker 4 in the film and reactor 4 becoming the real zone.

The main differences between the movie and the book is that the film has a more minimalistic approach, while the book includes a greater deal of lore with the addition of artifacts (similar to those in the game), more detailed anomalies, the main zone is most likely in America (in a fictional region called Harmont) and what I like the most is that the events happening outside the zone are explained in great detail, too. Aside from all that, the atmosphere is simply amazing, as one would expect. I think you’ll love it, every appreciator of the film and the games would.
