Freedom is the only faction you can actually join, and it requires you to do a very specific sequence of events

Depends on whether you actually want to be in Freedom. If you just want to play the game the way it was intended, don’t try to join Freedom, as you won’t be able to enter Rostok (Duty territory) because they will become hostile to you

Basically, joining Freedom limits your options and makes the game a bit harder
