Although one thing I do highly recommend for clear sky, you’ll have an issue at cordon

It’s caused a lot of players a lot of grief. When it happens you’ll know what I mean, but I recommend you cut your losses and just take the longer alternate route

Sadly all the super open stalker games are like anomaly, because they all are just COC with addons. All I can reccomend really is just to find addons that make anomaly more casual like high weapon drops, mutants spawning all mutant parts etc

I supposed maybe demosfen could be good? I haven’t tried it but I think it’s one of the more open mods

From my experience in anomaly, just doing an hour of mutant hunting with the mutant parts mod, or doing artifact runs, will get you 100kish roubles

That may be too long for you though

Also should mention to get that many artifacts I need a veles or svarog so that’s actually kinda an unfair recommendation

Basically you gotta take owls mission, then turn them in to bear, then at jupiter you have to give the files to duty and the pda to freedom

After doing that you'll be able to recruit strider iirc

I think CS had the best maps

SOC had the best story and most memorable moments in 100 rads or the brain scorcher and what not

COP had the best side quests and immersion

Immersion as in characters with unique personalities with their own problems that you could be involved with, I felt like I was influencing the zone in COP, the other games not so much

SOC had the best atmosphere though. I think the fact there was a lot more underground stuff probably added to that

theres no way to reall tell if you'd enjoy it or not, its an acquired taste of gaming

its buggy, the gunplay is hard and confusing at times, and youll die ALOT, but the atmosphere, characters, quests and experiences make up for it

id give Shadow of Chernobyl a try first, if you like it youll like clear sky, so you should get that after

then get call of pripyat. feels very similar but totally new environments and a less linear story
