To be honest, 2033 is the only one of the trilogy I’d recommend.

For real tho, my first vanilla completion I almost cheated because it got head-smashing-into-wall difficult. Had no anti-rad, had barely any ammo (kept picking up guns and ammo and swapping to whatever I had most of), and was fighting monolith inside the reactor area. I wasn't going to spend an hour going back and re-gearing up so instead I spent 3hrs save scumming my way through probably only 40 monolith to finish the game
