The other games tend to make the locations themselves accurate in terms of how they look and are laid out (minus the vegetation, of course), but their positions relative to each other are almost complete fiction F_sidorovich

Yeah that's fair, and of course if you've gotta make compromises, you've gotta make compromises, but it would be of course nice if they could get as much correct as possible 🙂 Jupiter factory layout is really neat because it looks almost exactly like the real thing, and it's actually roughly correctly positioned relative to the Pripyat "outskirts" (which also seem to be really nicely modelled relative to the real thing) in that it's to the east, but then Yanov station is completely in the wrong place and with extra doo-dads added as well 😄

With an admittedly cursory glance, it seems that they did take a bit more care with the portrayal of areas in CoP compared to the previous titles, although stuff is of course still shunted around for gameplay purposes, and it sounds like they might take this even further with 2, so that's neat-o
