All the base tier 1 upgrades cost only 1.6k so it should be affordable enough
Also try to partake in at least one faction war

Loners are the easiest but have the worst rewards (besides the SEVA they give you is useless because you're hostile to bandits and the bandit technician is the only one who can fully upgrade your SEVA) Duty is the second easiest and has better rewards Freedom is the second hardest but has far better rewards

Don't need to do an x-ray 2, with Microsoft's backing an in-house engine is more than feasible, UE4 has limitations especially with large world-spaces and larger actor/object counts.
