for me it's less of a problem to figure out that the trailer AI was so bad there for cinematic purposes, but it's indicative of the people making the trailer for them to not show actual smart AI and then say 'well in the game it will be good', well that's like showing shitty graphics and then saying 'well in the game it will look better', regardless of whether or not that statement is true it is indicative of their marketing and what I gather is that they aren't so much interested in showing actual gameplay at the moment which could be because of many reasons(it's not ready, they are trying to make it look more cinematic whatever that means or they just never gave it a second thought - maybe they are less focused on making representative trailers and more on finishing the game) but it's my hope that this sort of thing is only restricted to the trailer making guys and the PR guys and it does not leak to the mentality of the actual developers and gameleads, because it's not a good thing
