Upgrading it in CS can basically turn it into an automatic sniper rifle

Hell. I think that AKM-74/2u is the worst rifle in the series for sure. Unplayable. You can't properly aim it, recoil is too big. The sight is probably the worst out of all the guns. You can shoot it accurately only for 25m max. There's no need to upgrade it - it can't use any scope.
AKM-74/2u has a similar problem in CS - and extra problems such as awful texture and the fact that we have an AKM-74/2 from the start of the game.
