The best way to get a group to accept Strider is to get the Diplomat achievement (complete Vano’s quest peacefully and rescue Mitay peacefully) and then do one of the following for the group you want to recruit them

Give them Tachenko’s PDA
Give them Morgan’s PDA
Turn Magpie (||Flint||) into them.

I recommend doing the latter and giving the PDAs to Owl if that’s still possible for you, so you can also get the “a man of balance” achievement

Have you heard about it? The whole faction disappeared in the Zone. Well, you know about "Monolith", right? So those weirdos were defending the Zone from others and they all decided to make a raid into the center before the emission. And died. But recently some agressive stalkers started to come from the Brain Scorcher side, they attacked everybody and didn't want to negotiate. I know it by myself, I've seen it from the corner of my eye around the army warehouses. And that's what I think - could it be those "monolith dudes"? Their uniform looks hella similar...

People also say that Monolith members started to come back from the center of the Zone. And we thought that they were dead. I wish I could see them and ask how it was inside?

Supernatural place! We are going in circles, searching our missing friends - but we can't find anybody beside monsters. And sometimes some parts of their transmissions can be heard on the high ground but not a damn thing can be understand. And that's not all the weird stuff. How it can be explained that "monolithians" appeared from the Barrier side? I have seen one of them wounded... Dead eyes, and he was yelling only one thing: "Defend the Monolith!". And looks like he felt no pain at all, he tried to gnaw at least anybody's throat, so those guys got mad and shot him several mags. And what does happen inside "monolithian" heads? Why did they appear exactly after the Large Emission? Damn, only questions...

People say that the Zone is going to end up... Somebody found "Oasis" and took "Heart of the Oasis". Now the Zone will go into another dimension, and stalkers won't get out of it... It was a joke. Actually, some new artifact was found, scientists in the bunker are woking on it now.

Have you heard what kind of people "Freedom" tooks into its faction? There was some dude - Flint, he was telling fairy tales about his feats and then it turned out that he was a sneak you won't find a lot. He let his comrade die in the anomaly, took the swag and escaped. And then his "feats" popped up - he almost fed the hunters to the Chimera on Zaton. I thought better things about Freedom... but nah, I'll better go alone than to have such "friends".

Man, have you heard about "Oasis"? Think about it, it is a place that heals all the wounds and diseases... Ehhh. It is a miracle or a trick... well, or I have another thought. Did you notice that people become a little bit silent about the Wish Granter somehow but Oasis is on everyone's radar. So could it be that Oasis is somebody's granted wish?

You know, when a stalker needs money, he has two ways: to look for artifacts and sell them for 1/3 of the price or to work for scientists. Scientists will always find work for stalkers: to find a rare arifact or to deliever the body of a mutant. But the most important, if you make an agreement with scientists, they will give you a pass into the Zone, an official pass! Just think about it, you go through the military checkpoint with a full backback of swag and they salute you. Beautiful! So there you go, nearby the Yanov station, to the West, that's where they dropped the scientists' bunker. They have one stalker working there, maybe they will find a job for you.

Not the right time to ask for a job... Bandits have no control now - they took Mitay as hostage and deman a ransom for him. Mitay was the first who came to Yanov, he has done this place so it would be possible to hide from the emission and now it comes out that there is no one to save him. Freedom and Duty are, of course, busy, they are at each other's throats, and others... Nothing else to say, if even Mitay's group can't decide how to free him. If you want to help them, find Grizzly, he was on the station nearby the bar.
