played through 2033 and last light redux on ranger hardcore full tilt difficulty and good endings but it never really did anything for me
always lacked that high sense of dynamicity of encounters and satisfaction of combat which is understandable
didn't really like the story that much or the lore as well
some levels were fun
but there was a lot of time spent listening to npc's yammer on with atrocious accent voiceovers and walking behind them
would have been more bearable if I got more invested in the story
stalker on the other hand doesn't even have that elaborate of a main plot, but the game world, the lore around it and everything else are brilliantly engaging and the moment to moment gameplay is in simple terms just great
it's the type of game that doesn't force story context for you but makes you curious about it, so you read PDA entries, listen to NPC dialogue to find out more. It is really well done and stimulates the imagination

It's a decent game but SoC is superior
SoC has some unmatched raw feeling when playing it, no other stalker game has that. Not to say that any of the stalker games are bad just saying SoC has something special, and i can't really put my finger on what.
I've thought about that a lot, and I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that it was the longest in development, and had a lot of time to create a game world and since story concepts were changed around during development, there is tons of lore and stuff about things that may have had a bigger impact on the actual plot earlier in the game. So the final product ends up having a very rich game world in concept and in snippets that you can read from npcs or the PDA

It depends in what way you expecting it to match it. If in terms of quality, I can only hope for that! English is not my native language, but I did my best to write a good script and talk clear so viewers would not fall asleep within the first 10 minutes.
As for contents, it looks at SoC development from a slightly different perspective than GVMERS doc. I've tried to tell this story from the perspective of alpha and beta builds of this game, and show how SoC has changed during the years of its development. Played a few dozens of leaked prototypes and beta-versions, and tried to highlight the most important features and cut content from different years.

I saw Strelok at 100 Rads yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him to do my quest or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my drinking, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my habar up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen vodka bottles in his hands without paying.
The barman at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Marked one, what the hell?!” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear him, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When he took one of the vodkas and started putting it in his inventory multiple times, he stopped him and told him to move them individually “to prevent X-ray crashing,” and then turned around and winked at me. After he put them in the inventory screen and started to say the price, he kept interrupting him by yawning really loudly.

In the "clan_duty.doc" desdock for 2004 was mentioned that Duty was hunting for Strelok and other unrealized ideas.
- Duty was already hunting for you. Information that Strelok has is more important than his life. It can save thousand of people lifes. Rumors say, that Strelok was zombified and located somewhere nearby of Psi-Antenna.
- When the player finds out that he's Strelok, Duty will be against you. But If he (you) joins the faction, Strelok won't be hunted and the faction will get the info it wanted
- Player has a lot of information blocked on his PDA. It's a mess of code, which player can't decrypt until some moment. It can be decrypted by the faction player choses, some special stalker or Snitch.
Also mentioned that Duty can declare a war another faction if it kills 3 Duty members.

Secondly, people compare the mod they firstly played to the original games they played later. They think that the vanilla games are a lot worse and mods are way better.
