For people who barely give a crap about stalker, they will say that CS is the worst game of all time, 100% unplayable, broken as hell etc etc. But in reality, it's pretty normal and solid, generally considered the weakest by a lot in the community, but it's very enjoyable and personally my favourite @near pagoda

What happened before the game, during the game and loads of rumors
Some of the stories you get to hear even expand the further you get into the Zone
A lot of the Stalkers in the Zone are trying to make an aggressive push towards previously unexplored areas, seeking to claim the territory for themselves
Other than that, the gameplay is pretty neat

it doesn't go to that extent, where"every bullet counts" but hobo phase is pretty neat. Leather Jackets, PMm's and Sawn-offs. In CS you already start with an AK but still pretty decent Hobo Phase. CoP doesn't have a hobo phase

It admittedly was the only one I didnt complete because of some issues I had with the gameplay that had changed from the first game. (It really bothered me that much, lmao)
I'm sure it has good lore, and honestly, I'll take what I can get in learning more about the zone and its history, helps with immersion.
I just had a friend give me an extreme tldr of the plot that probably couldn't do it justice.

I suppose. I just found the need to bandage twice to be so annoying. Didnt matter how many medkits I used either, I would just bleed out. Like, after every time I took damage, I would be hemorrhaging bandages, which feel a lot more expensive then than in the previous game.
I will say though, the time I did play, the faction war mechanic was a super neat concept.
Mind you I was still early game. I think it's when I decided to get to the cordon from the great swamps through that military area is where I just gave up. Didnt have enough bandages not to die after running away.

next time spend more time in the Swamps to buy/find bandages. After a while, you won't run out of bandages.
But if i am honest, the bleeding system is the most realistic, considering that the medkit doesn't have any bandages, the character just uses the mophine syringe

Slight cop-out opinion, but I always thought when the CC say the "zone is expanding" they mean the crack in the Noosphere; IE the Zone is becoming worse and could potentially expand. This is kind of backed up by CS' interpretation that with each new Emission the Zones becomes more unstable; they reached the right conclusion through the wrong methodology.

well. i mean in my own opinion. there is groups of 2 or even more in stalker that stick together that travel to different areas
so why not try to make something like online squads that can appear in games/have the ability to set up coop as a "party" akin to a mmo where you can invite your friend from the online pool and they'll appear in the game world and you both can meet up and become a squad wondering the zone
not just story focused. there could be a free play/different path you can do for multiplayer
like anomaly based multiplayer would be amazing. i understand the problems with limited funding or just too much work for an idea

Half-life's combat was much more fast-paced, quake-inspired arcade combat. Fear I think can be a very apt comparison to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. if played in a cover-style way
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.'s combat was honestly not that bad in terms of gun feel and movement, but the enemy AI, the way gun accuracy is, and bullet sponginess of enemies did really hamper it in a lot gun fights. That being said, It is still alot of fun to play.
The story of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is honestly terrible and cliche. Strelok's Arc is boring. Scar's is not much better. The LORE is what's great about it. I also can't deny the atmosphere is what draws you into the gameplay.
That's why I think this game would be great without a drawn out main story line. you're just your average Stalker making his way in the Zone, with some quests that have stories within them.
