I've got a theory on this, but I've got no way to prove it so it's pure speculation; I think GSC got some capital from Microsoft to (continue to?) develop S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2, and one of the stipulations of the funding was that they'd make it compatible with the XBox Game Pass scheme that Microsoft is marketing. Again, just a theory, but if it's true then it could mean that there won't be all that much lopped off the STALKER formula to 'console-ify' it.

The idea being that Nimble would become kind of a central hub for all things going in and out of the Zone, and potentially one of the single most powerful people in the Zone as a result. This could make for some interesting relationships with other traders & garner a lot of interest from the bandits & mercenaries! 😁

Honestly there are lots of people in the indy scene who might be good choices for STALKER 2's soundtrack, depending on what the music is going to be like.

Exos are like godmode compared to other armors. You won't get oneshot by assault rifles and close range shotguns. I've had times where I took like 15 or so AK rounds while in an exo while retaining like more than 9/10 of my health.

I mean I finished it, but the first 5 minutes had me like "Isn't this just what Metroid Fusion did but worse?" and then about mid-way through they roll out 2 of the exact same copy-pasted boss fights from Metroid Fusion and I went "Oh hey cool it is...Just...Worse...". Phantoon was cool though.

The environments in 1 and 3 were ace! I think overall I liked 3's better cos of how focused they were, 1 had more variety but they always felt a little...Well little. Still great though! And honestly I think I'm the only person ever who liked the aesthetic & atmosphere of the Dark World in 2. 😝

Slug can be useful, if you fight often, so you'll use less bandages.
Moonlight - the most useful artefact, for sure. ShoC is the game about trailing the whole time.
Thorn is also useful, since radiation is everywhere in the Zone
Fireball - sell it
Slime - sell it
Meat Chunk - sell it
Stone Flower - sell it

Aye there's one scripted encounter right by the gate into the actual forest bit of the forest, and you can sometimes find them among the trees inside. Curious that this is your first encounter with them though, there's at least one other scripted event with a Bloodsucker in the Agroprom, and that's before you get to the Red Forest.

It's less of an "encounter" and more of a "watch this one poor Duty guy get plucked from his group like a crisp from a packet", you can't kill it and it isn't seen again after that. 😝

They're nasty if you don't know what to expect, but they have no ranged attack and the damage they deal isn't enormous. You can usually do pretty well by figuring out where Mr Sucker is when he's cloaked then backpedalling, this'll usually cause 'em to chase after you meaning you can fire on them fairly easily. They're fast though, so you'll not get many shots before Mr Sucker has caught up and demonstrated where his name comes from.

the walk from there to the first town left me with no ammo, no food or healing items and little sanity

That's a bug. I meant that all bandits are neutral even if you complete quests on loners side or kill some random bandits groups
