12 years ago, a second part of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. trilogy was released.
It told a story of a mercenary, who assisted
a certain faction (which is now only mentioned by veteran stalkers in their tales) to stop the notorious stalker Strelok from entering the center of the Zone.
Lots of features, gameplay and story-wise, were added to the game, making it even easier to immerse into the world of the Chernobyl Anomalous Exclusion Zone.
Scar was added to the roster of fan-favorite characters and became another legend of the Zone, loved by many players even today.
Experienced stalkers surely know how that story ended, but many of them still believe that someday they will be able to witness Clear Sky over the Zone.

Far Cry 2 really wanted to be Africa simulator first, and a fun game second. Back when Ubisoft was actually making games that weren't the same thing rehashed over and over again.
Well, that and Ubisoft hitting a developmental plateau , where if they were to invest as much time and effort into polishing as many tiny details as possible, they wouldn't be able to pump out a sequel every other year with an ever increasing world size.
And I'm sure as they've found out, it does not pay off, because as much as your average gamer likes to talk about all the little things in Red Dead Redemption 2, during play, there aren't all that many who actually notice of that crap.

I found a perfect condition one off them, but I gave him a med kit and got him back up.
It’s not early really, but early-wise as in story progression, you can just run there and get it.
