Did one badly made quest in Winds of time, where you need to go at night to place where bandits attack people. You are promised by stalker giving you the mission that his group will protect you. Turns out that he is connected to the bandits, so nobody saves you. But the quest is a 🇷🇺 roulette, because you go to place, bandits come to you, trigger conversation and after it instantly attack you, which majority of times ended them one-shot me before I could react.
But it ended unexpectedly, when zombified stalkers, who were somehow around (probably people who didn´t hide during Emission/Psi storm?) shot the bandits for me instead.
I wonder though - does Anomaly add some interesting quests for factions or other stuff? 🤔

I ran away on third or fourth attempt. On first attempt attacking zombified stalkers broke the conversation.
Then I was one shot. And on fourth or fifth attempt I ran away, tried to shoot bandits but before I did, zombified stalkers already done the job.

it is more or less call of chernobyl, a mod which combines all he staslker maps into a sandbox.
it has its own full sotry taking place 6 years after the events of call of pripyat.
it has many of the features and difficulty of the misery mod rolled in without the stability problems that would normaly come with that.
and finally it contains a really lovely graphical overhaul.

Well, as the standalone mods let you play the game without buying it, even in modded state (idk though when it uses modified X-Ray engine), it´s technically illegal and basically 🏴☠️ the game, unless you bought it. But it´s on copyright owner, in this case GSC, if he would pursue anything against it and so far GSC seems to be fine with standalone mods. With torrenting, you are helping to spread it. But as I said again, GSC doesn´t seeem to mind. @finite dragon

Yep, you should start with games first. SOC, maybe get Zone Reclamation project to fix bugs and add repairing of stuff, though vanilla game is fine when you just play main story. COP is the best in terms of gameplay.

I don´t know if it´s OGSE or vanilla explanation, but soldiers see Stalkers as a threat, because they sell artifacts to traders who then can get them out of the zone and thus probably spread the zone´s problems outside of the perimeter.
@hazy raven that's not supported by lore. Lore says that traders have good relationships with soldiers - it's the way traders ship good out of the Zone. (Suslov says that)
