Im not expecting multiplayer to come next week, or even in the next couple months honestly. Im just wondering what exactly its going to be. They have planned it from the start so they must have some idea with the direction they are going, right? Yes, it could be something as trivial as a tacked on generic deathmatch thats more of an afterthought then anything. But its not 2010 anymore and alot has changed. Maybe they do have something big planned for it, idk. Nobody knows. Thats my point.

Fair enough. However the general consensus I have seen is that multiplayer will be similar if not the same as the old modes present in the older games. Team Deathmatch, Capture the artifact, etc.

(This is entirely speculation of course, but I think more than likely it will be the case that we will get modes similar or the same as the original trilogy has had)

Each faction, except for loner, ward(both only have exoskeleton) and bandit(don't have exos), have their own exosuit and exoskeleton.
For example Duty have Shield of Duty Exosuit and Cuirass Exoskeleton.
The exosuits of these factions are their full body armor, like PSZ 9D Duty, Bulat, Wolfhound, Corundum that have servo installed.
While their exoskeletons basically have the same design, the only difference is the paint job.

In any case, I dont like the new exo servo designs. Made them way too simple. In the OG trilogy they look bulky as you can see the batteries and cable all over the servos.

I've seen people come up with explanations like "the locations swapped places between games" but that's not grounded in any in-game information and that would've honestly been a "somehow, palpatine has returned" explanation

I think that some of the SEVAs are scale way better than the exosuits, especially late game, given how the only one that has a sprint upgrade is the Ruby.
Which is a shame, because I think the Exosuits look way better than the Exoskeletons in this game.

With a Seva suit, you can upgrade it to have some shielded artifact slots, put 1 or 2 physical protection and the protection can be as high as an exo.
Repair is also lower with Seva I think.

In Pillhead, they reduced the energy drink to 10 sleep restoration. Healing items and food now build up the fatigue meter. Out of combat, the sleep meter will build up very slowly and naturally from food consumption. In combat however, sleep builds up incredibly quickly as the player eats through medkits - using 6 regular medkits is enough to make the player drowsy. Sleep reduces your aiming ability and since fatigue buildup in combat is inevitable, the player will have to rely on stimulants in order to keep Skif awake.

I think the feature where corpses get up as zombies is bugged. Because they have some chances to not doing so.

I encountered this bug on 3 occasions, when exploring Duga, the underground research, and that boss fight where you need to press some switches(which make the fight way too easy), they simply twitching and fail to get up lol

hey guys, my game is constantly making my gpu jump between a low and high power state where it just pulls 50 watts and gives me like no fps, at 150 watts i get a solid 120
no idea why it is constantly switching, it's clearly not a temp or cpu thing, and it works for other games it's just this one

Even if they don't use them they should really consider upgrading the project, as a game developer of 3 years in UE5 I can say it was night and day, especially for CPU performance which is arguably S2's main problem right now, if I recall correctly UE5.4 had a 40% CPU performance boost over 5.3

See, Stalker 2 is such a complex game it would be way riskier, but they are also a decently sized team, I can't say for sure but they could probably make a major update with an engine upgrade in less than a month

Yeah - but dont forget they are planning to add Multiplayer. You cant have MP in game that runs this bad, so they will probably look in to heavily optimizing it, and since the bottleneck is CUP NOT GPU, the chances are pretty good xD

I don't really see a reason for them not to try, if upgrading breaks the game, just continue using 5.1, if it doesnt break the game, then they just got a massive optimization improvement for free, including features like megalights which would REALLY help performance and lumen reflections that don't flicker more than the actual radiation

Yeah UE5 I think was a good choice, in my opinion they nailed how a Stalker game should look and feel

And I know when some people read that they immediately think UE5 is horrible because of optimization, but its really not, its how you use the engine more the engine itself. For instance Lumen in my project uses less GPU time than DLAA, but thats in 5.5, not 5.1. Upgrading the engine version would improve CPU performance, GPU performance, overall visuals, and give them more optional features to use down the line

Well "lacking" that depends. 1/ it is subjective 2/ Have you played original games and do you remember what they show about GSC vission of stalker? 3/ There definetly are reactions to the community feedback and even mods as well as mods that were made for previous stalker games and yet the game has certain characteristics in gameplay that blatantly ignore all of that. So I wouldnt count on that either. Just wait for performance fixes. Gameplay, unless we are talking about Alife, that imo "works as intended" aka GSC wants bulletsponges for some reason. And thus you are going to have to adjust your game with mods, dont expect devs to turn it in whatever you imagine it should be.

I am almost positive they did it because of optimization, from where I see it the trees in Stalker 2 are extremely high quality, which would make dense foliage like that tank your fps MASSIVELY when they are in view, perhaps with more time (and a better engine version) they could have kept it while making the game optimized enough, but I guess we wont really know

Because of how buggy the engine was, disregarding EVERYTHING GSC dealt with when making the game, the fact they did it on top of Unreal 5.1 is astonishing because of how unstable the engine was at that point
