Every game has parts that are more intensive: yes, technically def 100% but if a game is "optimized"/"stable" it is not something you would percieve. Some +-5 fps here and there.
(Please don't get started on noticing 5 FPS, I know we can notice it)

Call of juarez 1 come to my mind. That game had FPS all over the place. Whereas Call of juarez 2 or Dead island was a smooth sailing all the way through....

But in the end my point was: it really doesn't matter if the game is unstable/unoptimized: I am stuck with that and there is nothing I can do.

you are correct. I forgot to mention that i dont run uncapped frames. My other factor is heat. the less heat the better. Nothing better than having 140 fps and the GPU/cpu only 70% percent with fans barley doing anything.
During summer season at night I tend to cap frames even at 30 FPS so that the card produces less heat. (Yeah.....it would be long to explain why I cant run AC during night.....)

Yes, I agree with that approach (look at time and assume that its common logic that unless its a 24/7 store, its probably closed at night). However with optimization and such you won't have anything to go on in the end: like in the store example, even if the argument goes like no no, its open even during night, if you are so curious you can go and check in the end. That's a quick and really dirty workaround for the problem they released in the pre-New Year patch. It's a very well known issue. You should be able to get into the game if that dialogue box pops up though - it means the game will skip the entire shader warmup and go straight to "press any key to continue"

Speaking of A-Life, I watched a video showcasing its functionality in the original trilogy and the spawn bubble was apparently only 200m, maybe a bit less.

(I say "only", but in-game that's a pretty damn far spawning distance.)

So the current bubble only needs a bit of a size increase, but I think the more difficult/time-consuming part will be getting it working properly with the "offline" A-Life, and getting "offline" A-Life fully functional.

Outside of that, "Offline" A-Life needs further work and refining, and we need both the "Online" spawn bubble and the "Offline" component(s) working/interacting smoothly with each other.

Additionally, we also need further additions/refinements to NPC behavior.

So while there is more to be done, we have a good base that GSC is building upon, but it's going to take time.
