Underbarrell shotgun attachment is clunky: whnever you heal, or get knocked down it resets back to the standard weapon use. Also the transition between the two states: you would think that the weapon changed to the underbarrel attachment, yet it has an additional 2 sec that if you hit fire before that two sec, it will fire using the standard weapon. I have sent them video about both issues: the bullet appearing inside the sniper, and the clunky work. Im waiting support's reply whether they forward this issue. It's kinda hard to use the underbarrel attachments during fights when I heal, i have to switch again to use the underbarrel. Or if a bloodsucker gets me down, after I got up, switch.....Not to mention I'm relying on the "hold mouse button" key to switch (not the radial menu) which takes additional 1-2 sec, and then wait for the animation (which as I have stated has an additional 2 sec nonsense delay to it)...In a firefight this could mean game over vs victory

BTW, this animation delay is a bug with grenades as well. You can throw a grenade and then immediatley after thrown switch to any other weapon: The grenade thrown won't be substracted from your grenade count. Basically with you having 1 grenade, you have infinte amount due to this bug

The game really does need 32GB ram to get the mose out of it. I use to run 16GB and don't get me wrong, it ran okay, but that's just it. It ran okay. Since upgrading to 32GB, it's been butter smooth. can't say much about the game breaking bugs though... They are still very much in the game.

Not making any assumptions about you, sorry if it came across that way. I just wanted to make my view and stance on video games more clear.

I disagree with your student analogy because this is a creative work, not a math problem; there's technically no "wrong" answer, but that doesn't mean the execution can't be flawed. (Case in point: S2's launch with numerous bugs, optimization issues, and a myriad of missing features (namely A-Life), etc.)

I like the way Yahtzee Croshaw put it. I'm paraphrasing here but he basically said that a bad game (not that S2 is bad), is more interesting than a bland game. For me, even if the execution is flawed or even outright unfinished, the bad game will still have me more engaged than the bland game. There's a reason I haven't played anything from Ubisoft, EA, or Activision in years: because they all follow the same corporate, formulaic, creatively bereft, bland, cookie-cutter formula instead of taking risks and trying something new.

When it comes to art, you need to remember that there are pieces that are considered masterpieces despite being flawed on a technical level. However, I have no problem with saying that S2 is not a masterpiece, at least not yet. I truly believe that it has the good bones and the framework/base to be one, and that GSC can get it there, but it's just not there yet; this work is not yet complete and it needs more time.

Also your English is great, the only thing I would try to work on is your formatting because it can be a bit difficult to read your responses when they're all one big block of text. Use paragraphs every few sentences to break the writing up, it helps to make it more readable.

Is it true that the head light doesnt matter? I see people saying it, but I have had inconsistent experiences. I swear sometimes human mutant enemy doesnt spot me when I dont have head light on, but they do when I have it on. But how is it really?

So GSC implemented a temporary fix in...1.1.3 I think, where if you crash during shader compilation, you'll get a message next time you launch saying that they're aware of the issue and are working to fix it, and from then on it will be disabled.

I just had that happen yesterday and noticed zero difference from when it was still enabled, so I'm not sure why it's there in the first place.

I don't really care too much if it isn't ultra popular on media, i'm enjoying it, the devs are keen to keep working on it and they care for the fans they do have. Sure a wider audience gives them funds to work on it, but i'm happy with where it lies now

I still feel like that would be an impossible task simply due to the size of the map. Going out to someplace and seeing the same squad multiple times works more naturally in a smaller map, in one as big as this you won't get that same level of 'connection' by default

That's one benefit of funneled loading transition zones, walking that constant path lets you see how the npcs move around and interact. By all means i'm all for improvement, but it just seems like the game's design will inherantly hinder it

though in saying that i've still been planning out potential ways to improve it with friends once the modding kit comes out proper, at least to experiment with potential solutions

The old games had hunger counters for mutants and morality systems as well. When most of a pack was killed the dogs would flee to survive. Stuff like this is what makes a game feel alive. Render distance could be 1000m but without all these functions of the ai. Looting, cover taking, and the rest the game feels kinda dead

More distinct AI behaviours for all enemie types would be awesome, im sure theyre getting there, they have to fix the core systems first or theyre just getting more problems, bandits should hide and run away more often, Mercs and Loners would prefer their life over capping someone else for sure, Monolith could be even more machine like in their efficiency and mannerisms

I preferred the old Fleshes when it was always up to guess if they aggroed on you or not

After some more time playing, I’m close to feeling like this might be my favourite set of weapon mechanics. Idle sway, recoil systems, tap vs burst dynamic, damage, it’s a solid blend of old and new - random and predictable. Feels great

If we are speaking about weapon modules. The whole weapon modification system is a mess. One weapons can take grips and lasers, others dont. Scopes - they are tied to ceartain weapons and you cannot mount them to other even if they have picattiny rails. Totally casual system without any realism in it
