Not necessarily. Drivers reinstall would, but anyhow its easy and quick to do. Press start - search for disc cleanup - toggle the shader box (its called directX shader cache") and OK.

okay, in that case go to your %localappdata%stalker2 folder and take it out. I'd recommend just moving it somewhere else. Launch the game again, see if it boots.

if it does start (which it should), then you can start moving stuff from the old /stalker2 folder. The most important thing in that folder would probably be the saves if you're not playing on gamepass, and your settings.

1.1.3 is quite finnicky in my computer. I disabled shader generation because it screws up like 1 out of 2 times, so if you find yourself in the same boat, you can just go to the %localappdata%stalker2/saved/config/windows (the exact path differs a bit depending on the store but it's similar anyway), open engine.ini and and at the end add the following:

[SystemSettings] r.PSOWarmup.WarmupMaterials=0

Then save and close. This will skip shader generation in the future, which, as long as you've done it once successfully, you shouldn't need to until either you update your gpu drivers, or your game.

I wouldn't recommend doing this, but with 1.1.3 launching is a coinflip otherwise.

foliage.LODDistanceScale=1 <- This can't be higher than 1 or it will somehow cause that one model of tree to become problematic.
This does mean you can't force foliage to render their full poly models much sooner like a lot of increased render mods try and force with that value.
However I found some other values help eliminate bad 2d sprites for distant trees which alleviates the pop/shifting of distant LODs just as well or atleast from the area where I have been losing my mind running around the last 7 hours testing all of this.

you should have like 2 items of food per type. theoretically you don't even have to carry any food, you can eat what you find and be fine

water bottles are heavy and you do not need so many of them. you either have plenty of energy drinks and no water or plenty of water and no energy drinks

58 bandages is 5.8 kilograms. you should have like 20 bandages max. in general you shouldn't have too many medkits and bandages because you find them everywhere.

you do not need 300 ammo for a last resort pistol you seldom use

you also do not need 500 and 600 ammo for your 2 primaries. an absolute maximum that i take on my most used gun is 240

i know it's difficult to optimize an inventory because you feel like you need everything. realistically, you don't even need water because you have the energy drinks. you should also probably get rid of both vodka and beer because you have plenty of anti-rad pills which are also way lighter. as for the ammo types, stash the excess ammo that you have so that it does not get wasted. i have a collection of all kinds of ammo in my stash just in case i want to start using another gun.

some more general tips: you don't have to pick up everything you see: if you have enough meds, there's no need to grab more. if you see food, don't grab it into your inventory, eat it then and there. i advise picking up rare ammo (7.62x54, 9x39 etc) and stashing it away once you get to base. this makes eventually switching to those guns much easier

My typical ammo load out when leaving a base is ~150 rifle rounds of regular and AP for my primary rifle, 50-60 shotgun or ~300 SMG rounds for my secondary, ~100 pistol rounds if I'm using APBS or ~40 if I use the rhino.

Then I also have 10-15 med kits, 20-25 bandages, 1-2 food items, 5 anti rad, 1 Hercules, and as much Psy block as I can get (if you end up needing it you'll want it). Add in some waters since they are just better than energy drinks imo

Unfortunately I think GSC will have to abandon the whole "procedural generation" for stashes and take the time to give each one "hand-crafted" loot. Stash contents need to actually match their description; if I find stash coordinates with the owner talking about being able to retire with what's in there, I better find more than some bandages and a bottle of vodka.

The problem with randomized spawns is that all stashes have a description. It creates a conflict when the stash loot doesn't match up with that description which is where we are now with the randomized stash. (Outside of the special stashes.)

Maybe stashes could be randomized in a way where their description will accurately reflect their loot, but the stashes themselves and therefore the loot are randomized. (Having trouble figuring out how to word this, I apologize.) I feel like you'd also want to have it tie in with the progression level of the region so you don't have a stash with an exoskeleton or high-end gun spawning in the Lesser Zone, the Garbage, or the Cordon.

* Stashes are randomized when you don't have their coordinates.

* Randomized stash loot will pull from a table of stashes in that region and stash loot will be tied to the progression of a region so that you don't end up finding exoskeletons in the Lesser Zone, Cordon, or the Garbage. (This would require NPC equipment progression to be tied to region again as opposed to player story progression.)
