I played Hellblade 2 on just that iirc.
Its now one of my favorite games ever.

To be fair too, its better for the health of the game (once multiplayer comes out) if 5-6 people bought standard editions vs one big expensive one. I only bought it because I was born in the early 90's, STALKER was literally the star game of my youth. I got the expensive one to honor that memory. It literally changed my life a bit, being someone born in the USA with literally no ties to Eastern-Europe. Yeah its just a silly video game, but I never would have taken language classes in university, as an example, if it weren't for STALKER. I just hope STALKER 2 can be that positive influence for someone else now

I use a mod (I think it's native to EFP, I know I had to deliberately install it for OG anomaly), it lets me run warfare and storymode in the same playthrough, but theres a weird interaction on the initial spawns because of it. Essentially, instead of a 2x stalker multiplier, I get a 5x or 6x. Now combine that with .ini manual editing, I don't actually know how far I've cranked the spawns, actually. Something like 10x-12x? oh yeah, and all factions have 10-man squads

From my experience with the previous games, I'm an Assault Rifle and Sniper Rifle kinda guy. Shotguns just kinda seemed to stagger enemies without actually doing any damage and, well, the Viper 5 is the only SMG in the Trilogy. Pretty good in CoP though

There is a few pretty nast bugs in CS you could get, and if you are unlucky with AI, you can get that whole COD 4/WaW veteran grenade experience lmao Its a gamble. SoC and CoP have far smoother stories that dont deviate too much playthrough to playthrough, but you never know what you are gonna get when you embark on a vanilla Clear Sky run lmao

The story is not great imo. Didnt have alot of depth. But the gunplay is unironically the best in the series. I enjoy it for the gunplay alone. More viable builds and weapons, though they throw more legendaries at you than you know what to do with tbh. I would try it if you like borderlands. Its not gonna wow you theatrically, but gameplay wise? You will def have some fun.

My first Character in Borderlands was Roland, Shock Trooper. Man, he was literally just a whirlwind of death. Chucking grenades as often as you want because they regenerate, dealing damage increases your Action Skill Cooldown and because you're focusing on shock damage, you'll basically just get your Scorpio Turret back when the duration of it runs out. Really strong

Roland surprised me man. I remember the first time I played him not liking him as much, but the most recent time i got him to max level i had such a blast. @vivid sphinx mostly right, the only difference is that I have the Full-alife enabled per squad and per mutant. Each squad is 10 men, but each of them then has to do calculations to vector to their squad lead (I use ful offline combat too). Its mostly math yes, but each frame (roughly getting 45), it has to recalculate ALL of this for the WHOLE Zone... 45 times a second. Did I mention, full warfare is on too? and smarts are forced to always have 10 targets with min/max invasions set so that all non-base points donate all of their guys to base points (more calculations, 10x per point, now its exponential because you have repetitive in-targeting among the points). I'm just flored that my game could stay at like 22 fps on average while having 350 guys on my map actively fighting, and doing all those calcs for 5k stalkers and 1k mutants

I was around 60 fps at the bar, once duty stopped killing loners. I'm just saying that the A-life system is...massively impressive for its time

a battlepass in a single player game would actually be wild, only way i see it being reasonable is if they actually go crazy on their multiplayer game mode and keep the pass to only affect multiplayer

I get it. Unfortunately its just how the modern landscape is. I dont think all battlepasses are bad or predatory though. I really enjoyed how BL3 handled it. If stalker 2 has one i will only support it if its more in-line with that, and not like, how COD or other multiplayer games do it. But I doubt they will. Especially since Stalker goes hand in hand with mods. Anything that could be in a battlepass could just be modded in later so its kinda moot.
