Stalker dead air is so peak(with campfire saving im not a save scummer), on my 3rd in game day, the only two areas Ive been able to scrape myself through and around have been the great swamps and cordon, and since the 1st day Ive been using some random corpse pistol that has a condition in the 20s and im still using it unable to repair it because its expensive asf and my novice jacket has 76% condition and pbf gas mask 81% and Im also broke asf and half dying all the time. All of this is a massive compliment in my eyes because I feel grounded with all the other random rookies around me and it just feels balanced wonderfully so far(unironically). In most other stalker games/mods day 3 Id already have a stalker suit and wouldve sold 21 artifacts. Days go by fast here and Im not able to do a lot and not in an artificial way I just spend so much time trying to make sure im not gonna collapse from exhaustion or die of cancer from radiation. Also the first stalker playthrough in a while to get me genuinely pissed over some dogs.

Which is a great sidearm, but it’s not exactly common even in the first trilogy. And now what, stalkers just happened to rob an HK truck full of HK416s and USPs? 😂🤣🤣

Honestly, I wouldn't mind some uniques. But I honestly just want the line-up of guns to feel balanced. The OG trilogy was balanced around your progression being your gear. I really would hate to find out that they changed this and replaced it with an inferior system.

When I do my inevitable plurality of various upteenth playthroughs though, I'll definitely be chomping at the bit for a greater (and arguably more realistic) lineup of firearms.

I think there's a whole issue around games trying to make themselves challenging even into the late game by making enemies scale up to you.

It makes progression feel pretty meaningless bc if I get a new shooter & gear, then every asshole in the Zone also has a new shooter & better gear. But I hope that won't be the case with S2.

I sorta figure/hope the addition of the new factions means there'll be greater variety in humanoid gun-toating enemies & gear levels.

I don't expect S2 to have the same issue, just to be fully transparent. But I would be a bit disheartened if I found out that it did, hours into it.

Honestly, the new NATO weapons in EFT always make me wish we had more of them in Stalker, too. I love the sig spear and the mp7.

Honestly though when I think of the OG trilogy's weapons, I never felt like the variety was that limited while playing. I always had this feeling that the guns chosen were chosen more for balance and progression reasons, than for consideration to realism or anything.

(although those of us who enjoy the extremely hardcore niche are probably always hoping to be stuck with a dogshit mosin for the first hour of the game)

It's easy to dodge them after you learn how their AI works. Yeah, it's best to just jump at the last second, but, like... it's not good that you can see the boar just reacts to the key you're pressing. It's like, the AI should feel like a living thing. Behave as such.

That is more like CotZ. It is not the constant combat of like Clear Sky but more like the exploration and wonder of SoC. Some people don't like that because they don't know how to create their own experience. They instead want to be spoon fed every step they take. Like being given a grocery list to enter a store and quickly do their shopping.

not 100% sure since there hasn't been many examples, but the AI of dogs seemed to be really good in trailers. Although they swarmed and kinda circled you in the original trilogy, it seems like improved that further so it didn't look like they were out there on jihad to end you at cost of their own lives, but rather actually trying to hunt down big juicy "prey".

the Misery artifact container is bullshit, they made a interesting system shit
containers are unweildy and too heavy, for how frequent artifacts are, it basically innutilize or heavely disincentivizes a artifact hunter style
you could use NLC type containers which are very good, but the balancing is also sided towards artifacts being rare and focusing in new sidequests
