a lot of people think fallout is kiddy just because it has that blonde blue wearing fallout mascot, fallout 3 is darker than stalker shadow of chernobyl, in stalker the zone is more of a playground, a place for adventure, people willingly enter there to become rich, to find the wish granter etc. to realise their dreams, its a place for ambition, despite the government making it a crime to enter the zone, they go find irradiated artifacts and sell it to outside world by selling them to smugglers like sidorovich, u could almost say theyre the bad guys, in fallout 3 the entire world is torn down by nuclear warfare, people struggle to even find water that isnt radiated, despite all this, there is still war going on among factions, the enclave, the brotherhood, the music in fallout 3 makes u feel more like in a post apocalyptic world, u can eat corpses in fallout, u can sell children as slaves, unlike in stalker, in fallout 3 u can see heads flying off, body parts getting detached, the world feels more isolated and dead, there is story and side stories that deepen the darkness of the world while in stalker ur just a powerhouse who goes to the center of the zone, a deed no one was able to before u, ur the boss, ur the king in the story, also aside from all these ''world being darker'' talk i enjoy fallout more than stalker because its world is fully open unlike stalkers' semi open world, it has more rpg elements, there is much more shit to do after u finish the the game, it feels more real like ur in the story, stalker on the other hand is a survival shooter with light rpg elements that once u finish the story there is nothing left to do
