people tend to hate on Clear Sky. I was always disagreeing as I played it in 2008 when it just came out and have some very fond memories of it.

Well, I decided to play again all stalker games recently. After completing SoC... Man, now I see why everyone is so pissed lol
Like, there are some cool things (spatial anomalies, repair/upgrade etc.) But the game just felt so much not like stalker, I was always in a hurry, constantly shooting enemies, these god damn enemies that can throw grenades right under your feet. And the ending was so anticlimatic as well, doesn't make any sense

The world itself is deep, npcs live their own lives throughout the game as some will move into towns, will grow old, have daily tasks, will remember you and your actions, have scars or injuries if you attack them etc. There are over 200 animals in the game, highly unlikely you will find all of them in a normal playthrough, the weather and how it affects you and its surroundings, you can literally made the protagonist fat, make him bald, let him grow out his hair, make him live a filthy live. I dont see how the game is anything but in depth

Good visuals and attention to detail literally mean its in depth, it means the devs put time into adding details that they didnt need to just to make the game more immersive

My first PC was a 486 66MHz in the 90s. I’ve worked in IT for over 15 years. I’ve built systems for businesses, gamers, and home users. I’ve taught seniors in a professional capacity. There is no denying that a PC is superior from a technical standpoint. It’s the definitive platform if you value fidelity and performance. Having said that, I departed from the hobby in 2020 and bought a Series X because I was tired of incessant troubleshooting and tweaking to achieve optimum performance. I was faced with a rebuild at a time when parts were gratuitously expensive (they still are) or buying a console for the price of a mid-range GPU. I chose the latter and never looked back! There’s simply no substitute for the accessibility, affordability, and convenience of a console.

Console games these days have all of the same issues as PC games but no way to fix them. Affordability goes out the window if you want to play online multiplayer. And the Xbox and Playstation aren't all that convenient. The only proper console in 2024 is the Switch.

Not true, I’ve been using my Series X exclusively since 2020 and haven’t experienced any complications that couldn’t be rectified with a simple restart. Quick Resume is arguably one of the best features this generation. I don’t pay for online, since I stick to single-player, but I could fund it with Microsoft Rewards without spending a dime.
