Oh yeah, I tried the Tide today
And yeah, just like I thought, the Vintar BC and Tide do indeed follow different upgrade methods
My problem was that I upgraded my first Vintar BC like I would a Tide and hoped it would be a good sniper rifle
But it just doesn't work well as a sniper rifle
Whats your opinion on Tide?
Tide would be my go-to playstyle, tbh
Just one-shot taps
But it's a Vintar BC challange run, so yeah
Don't worry though, I used the Tide on a separate save
Same with the Storm
No worries, its all good
As soon as I get that thing, I wish I could play as a Military Stalker
If you don't want to restrict yourself too much then don't
Nah, I challenged myself to a Vintar BC run and it'll be the only gun I'll be using
PB-1s being the only exception
I see. Very respectable
After all, those are my least liked weapons in STALKER
Other than the Bulldog 6, of course
I started my IL challenge after I finished Jupiter Underground level
That thing just doesn't do any damage
Man i'm getting a lot of artifacts in SoC,i'm filthy rich in the early game already
In my next game I'll use only that gun and another weapon as my secondary
Or should I just use IL? @pseudo rivet
Think I want to go with the AC-96/2
Without secondary guns
I love that thing but almost never use it
What do you want to use?
Something you haven't used much before, for example?
Shotgun run could be cool
Honestly not even sure
AC-96/2 is very frustrating. Very unreliable gun.
You're not gonna have fun with it
I love that thing, but never use it that much tbh
Might go with 2U, I guess
I usually just go with the IL 86 in CoP
Always disliked that gun
We checked some files a while ago on Wiki and it (obokan) has the lowest breaking point of all guns for some reason
It's pretty awesome tbh
Just very high fire rate for very close quarters
if only they kept the model and sights like in SoC for later games
It do B wat it B
Even in CoP
like, the sights were perfect in SoC and then they made them god knows what
in CS and CoP specifically
Ah, don't worry, I can aim with CoP iron sights
I tried running around with it in the least action-packed CoP and it kept still jamming on me with like relatively minor damage to the rifle
I genuinely like using Oboka in SoC and CS ngl
But in CoP I used it like once or twice
so can I, but it's still not very pleasing aesthetically
To be fair, you should use the AC-96/2 as a sniper rifle, just like the IL 86
Yeah, I also never really use the AC-96/2 in CoP. Would love to try a run with that thing
It's just annoying lol
It's always a question, Obokan as a sniper or AKS-74U with max fire rate and recoil control
Sniper, obviously
For contrast, an interesting gun in SoC is SGI 5k because even 100% broken it can dump 2 mags without jamming
Obokan as a sniper imho
I tested it and was mad surprised when I dumped 60 rounds without malfunction on 0% condition
Interesting
Ive only started using the obokan recently cause for most of my playthroughs I didn't know there was semi
It's pretty nice
it's not always, but if you were to choose from all broken guns, that would be the most reliable in my experience (not supported by actual numbers)
AC-96/2 got that based 2-burst mode
Ye
SGI-5k do B my go-to for CS
Noted. Nice info Wolf
idk how it was changed for CS but in SoC it's for sure a super nice weapon, rarely jams
I mostly use SGI in CoP (Strelok's variant)
SGI-5k, GP 37 and FT-200m are basically contrasts of each other with the same stats. SGI-5k has higher damage, less accuracy, GP 37 has less damage, higher accuracy and the FT-200m sits between the two
I don't think I have ever used the druganovs
I’m playing call of chornobyl and I am afraid
SVUA-2 is the bullpup
The golden rule is to never use the inferior western guns
Help…. I got down a hole because mole told me to and now raiders are tickling me
Unbased opinion
Which gun is your least favorite by the way? Mine is FTM
Which is the better druganov, the svu or the svd
Nagant revolver>LR-300 anyday
In my opinion SVD
which game
At least in CoP
Different styles. SVDm-2 is basically One Shot, SVUmk-2 is more flexible and can take a bit more skill
Like, assault rifles or...?
Cop and CS
Basically what I said
I meant your least favorite gub from just those 3
Gun**
FT-200m, I suppose
SGI-5k is my go to, upgraded into a sniper rifle
Ye the inferior western engineering
🤝
Nuh-uh, Belgian engineering
I prefer the sawn off mosin
bro we here mainly talking vanilla... kk
We talking vanilla
Ik I'm just messing
you're talking to yourself in those moments
Are you even talking about a stalker game
A ton of mods have the Obrez
It's impractical and dumb
I don't think I have played any mods with the mosin pistol
Ye but funny to whip out your trouser pockets
Just like how Fallout has a ton of sawed-off hunting rifles
Brb
Sawn-off Shotgun, ngl
Yeah, SVUA-2 is funky
For me it's definitely the agm 88 HARM
my least favourite weapon in SoC (if we're not talking pistols) is still Obokan. Just don't dig it. Barely any advantage over the AKM-74/2 but so much heavier. Same for other two games, lol
for aforementioned reasons of reliability
Speaking of weight
@pseudo rivet in my next playthrough I'll use IL and 2U, but can I make use Eliminator just for 2 missions? For Evacuation and Jupiter Underground
Man, the TRs 301 is LIGHT asf
oh, and in SoC no ability to attach the GL
also breaks fast but at least pretty abundant
Hmm, I'd personally prefer the IL 86 and AKM-74/2U no matter what, but I guess
Yeah, but the cool thing about the TRs 301 is that it's good in basically everything, just that it breaks pretty fast
So basically a jack-of-all-trades
I'll try without Eliminator then
yes, that's a big advantage
Also Chaser 13 > Eliminator tbh
I have a question, are there representations of religion in stalkers? can we see statuses or specific tables? a bit like in Metro Exodus in the Marais
in like 90% of playthroughs in CS and CoP I just run an upgraded AKM-74/2
something trusty about it that makes it so effective for me, and also a jack of all trades really
SGI-5k you get after joining Freedom
Free SUSAT scope as well, so you already get the full package
Wdym?
we talking Big Land religions or quasi-religious appearances in the trilogy?
I think Big Land religions
Strelok's SGI
Reason: Bad word usage
I never really use unique weapons tbh, but I'll see what the difference is between the standard and Strelok's
@nimble cipher piss off
got excited and wrote the f word
I think it's cool that Strelok used it
I don't know how I could interpret something as a religion in stalkers if there is for example, to protect the stalkers and have a good guardian angel for the zone
WHY DOES NO ONE EVER SIGN THE PETITION TO BAN HIM
well there's the Monolith...
Wheres that petition?
There is a petition to ban him!?
I will sign it up in a heartbeat
Sign me up
I forgot for a sec i'm not in C-Con lol
I've started so many just in here, I won't even bother finding them
Frick you wolf
I haven't seen myself as well
Is there anything in particular other than the Monolith? maybe a closer representation?
How are you bro?
Rizzler says you can find yourself in The Zoner. I am looking for myself for a week.
Sin/Dark Stalkers
cut content
like monolith but not brainwashed, just worshipping the zone
they're in Anomaly though that's obviously not canon
I'm fine as hell
Ah
Ah, wait
You feel?
Dark Stalkers are technically canon, or rather, canonized myth
Father Diodor
They got mentioned directly in Ashots dialogue
Yeah, but only their appearance in a nightmare is canon
There's Hermit who views the Zone as a living creature with a kind of sentience... One could argue that it's a quasi-religious view
Here
interesting
i am not the most knowledgable so im sure there's more to it
surprised nobody already mentioned it
Though, as you know, when Krezzin gets tough, tough gets Krezzin, goes one random saying @gaunt burrow

I suppose the tough got Krezzin in a corner....
in one or another way a lot of stalkers have superstitions that border on spiritual belief
Well, it's technically just a nightmare, so there's nothing really that interesting, but the mention is nice
oo, forrester? the dude in red forest who tells you to get the Compass?
I recognize good old Krezzin
Hermit.
Hermit.
approximately like this "
"
Not really. Forester's connection towards the Zone isn't a religious one. He simply understands that he has a unique relation with the Zone and that this has benefits and penalties
@gaunt burrow any reference you remember in the trilogy of simply "God"? Not like any specific one, but just a reference to a belief in god
Father Diodor
Clear Skyers seem Religious because Cold in his dialogue mentions that nowadays they pray to both God and devil
Manner of speaking, I'd assume
aside from cut bio though, is there something in the quest to kill him?
I always said business and religion can't go together, they can never cross, and should never ever meddle in the other's affairs. It's just this padre, Lord forgive me, Diodor... well... he just can't see this simple truth. He keeps raving about artifact hunting, says that trading in them drives people to sin not just in the Zone, but in the whole world, on and on along those lines. Get this, he preaches the destruction of artifacts altogether! See what he is up to? The worst bit is that he's actually got some converts! I've tried to approach this Diodor this way and other, but he just keeps at it. Here's the deal: you're going to send him upstairs where he can preach all he likes... you get the point, right? And I'll give you a cool artifact. So, we've got a deal?
I don't remember any so far
Would the zone be a connection to another dimension? when phenomena occur, open a temporal portal to pass on something completely outside of time
Lord
It feels more of a humorous remark of being in something like a purgatory, not sure how literally we can take that
No, because the Big Land exists as well
well wait a sec, we have C-Con in the Noosphere
Fair enough
The reason Stalkers can even BE in the Zone is because the Stalkers get support from the Big Land. Stalkers need supplies from the Big Land and the Big Land wants stuff from the Zone. It's mutually beneficial
there are different facts about it too, but on the other hand, the total understanding of the area remains an unsolved mystery about its control, the same in relation to the Bermuda Triangle, but it is something completely different.
I think you're thinking too hard about something that's not there to begin with
The Bermuda Triangle exists in reality
No way, for real?!?! 💀
That's a myth tho
What's the best sidearm in SoC,if you guys even use one

Martha
Big Ben
do you know the story of planes and boats that disappear without explanation near America?
No, I neeeever heard about that
UDP Compact, I guess
cool thank you both
Kora 919
ok ok
Speaking of, interestingly enough, Military Stalkers use the UDP Compact
Interesting to see
I'll try them all out
there are other tirangles, or unexplained areas on the planet that are forbidden for airliners to pass through, unexplained phenomena, such as the compass which begins to move in all directions, and also an electromagnetic field that completely destabilizes where you are
Oh brother
This has nothing to do with Stalker
You can find lots of strange but real phenomena on the internet that no one has managed to explain, most likely extraterrestrial, but I don't bother too much with that.
The Noosphere interacts with something which modifies its electromagnetic field and transforms it
interesting story
Bermuda triange thing is a myth, there's no more disappearances there than anywhere else in the world, and it's a very stormy area
We could say that yes, after the transformation of the zone also did something because it created some living thing, as if we needed to take care of them, but the zone devours everything it finds sometimes, and I sometimes say to myself what is needed to completely satisfy the area so that it can return to its original state
I've had a similar conversation with some folks here not too long ago; the Zone's sentience is on the same level as the inability to prove or disprove the existence of God — it's something that is up to you to interpret
Are you ready to go to this area for real?
Depends on how many pseudoscientific things I have to battle
preaches about destruction of artifacts but literally has a small fragment of the artifact Gravi built into his combat chaser's barrell
it's something that goes beyond all of us, but above all I have the feeling that it's something like a monster who needs to satisfy all its desires
fight fire with fire
How are artifacts created? do they come from another world thanks to an opening during a red sky broadcast, the question remains unanswered
Artifacts are basically clusers of anomalous energy (according to Freedom technician Yar)
The stalkers come looking for an answer to which they will find what they are looking for, but in the end, it remains a unique experience
"Useful? Useful in our line of work means something that's gonna help you stay alive. That, or something that's gonna make your enemy dead. I'll tell you about artifacts. What's an artifact? It's a cluster of anomalous energy, kinda like a stock cube. There's also artifacts that can...err...what's that damn word...ah, right...ge-ne-ra-te anomalies! I think that's how Chekhov says it. Anyway, only problem is, once the artifact generates an anomaly it's as good as useless. The anomaly itself ain't exactly powerful nor does it last long, but it's good enough to delay someone or knock 'em off your trail altogether"
Some artifacts can also be generated in labs
good first information
depends on the artefact, but most of them spawn as a result of the anomalies' activity
the artifact can generate an anomaly, I didn't know
I thought this was the zone (emission)
this part was only really in the development concept and in the multiplayer, never reflected in singleplayer trilogy
"artefact activation"
"Bring the Fireball artifact" sidequest of Sakharov:
"We've managed to obtain the artifact in laboratory conditions! This is a breakthrough! Now all the world will hear about our success. And the Nobel Prize will be close at hand! This is the unique artifact - "Pellicle", it's main quality is to protect from the chemical burns. Do you want me to give it to you on behalf of science? However, I do have one request - in return I need the artifact "Fireball", do you know about such? Unique thermal qualities of its surface require thorough research."
^ so far the only known artefact to be created in lab conditions
Guess I misspoke. But aye
I wonder if the artifact actually exists
if it's not Top Secret
You mean on the big land?
which one? 🤨
Suslov mentions that outside world is full of artifacts and other trinkets
Beard mentions that as well
I mean even before that, a few anecdotes and side quests imply that they go across the border
in SoC
In secret places where only someone experiences things that only they know
you've lost me
Area 51, where perhaps other places that we are not aware of in reality and are forbidden to know about it, a bit like the secret laboratories of the Soviet Union from the time when telephatic experiments were carried out to control the minds of Americans in the middle of the Cold War
you're just speculating
you could learn what we know about how these things work by playing the games, reading the wiki, watching lore videos
the artifacts are usually made from materials present in and around anomalies, which are created by the C-consciousness and its influence on the noosphere that created the Zone
you sound like you've just taken psychadelics, need sleep or heard too many conspiracy theories
Artifacts could be used by governments actually. Since Sid in Clear Sky does mentions that entire governments are interested in artifacts
"A long, long time. I was one of the first in the Zone. Back then we didn't have radiation detectors or suits, so your life expectancy in this place was real short. That's why I've never been past the Garbage. That sort of thing isn't for me. I've got the brains for a different sort of business: I'm like engine grease, without me the engine falters and that means people start fighting. But when I'm around everyone's happy. Even though the Zone is full of wonders, the demand for these wonders is even bigger - be it from governments, special services, private agencies or fat cat collectors. I'm their link to this place: I facilitate trade between the Zone and the outside world. I know all the right people and I can solve just about any issue without leaving this room. That pretty much sums me up."
So it wouldn't be too far fetched to assume that artifacts are also being used for some secret purposes by the governments
So irradiated kids in Uzbekistan can be lore accurate
Although thats not confirmed, but its very much possible
I played stalker more than 14 years ago, I learned some things about the zone, but it is true that I sometimes connected the history of the zone to certain things in reality, perhaps too far into this concept
there's no reason not to believe it. large quantities of equipment can't come out of nowhere, and what's the only real currency to the outside that the Zone can have? (rhetorical)
let's just take a step back and establish that it's all fictional, besides the actual area of the CEZ
Even military uses artifact. "Find the Night Star artifact" of Barkeep. Detailed description:
"Find the Night Star artifact to help the national military research effort."
The zone is just a video game imagining of a second explosion in 2006 at the Chernobyl power plant, the rest is all fiction
there was no second explosion, so fiction begins with it
good find. like I know these things are out there, but I don't have all the dialogues and quests on standby, you're my guy for that 😁
absolutely, all this is just fiction, afterward we can imagine a whole lot of things about the entire zone and all its phenomena in its history
@delicate chasm I kinda don't understand the currency. Like, theres even digital currency in CS that complicates things even more
Scar may encounter bandits who will demand a ransom for the passage - and one of the possible dialogues that will start the conversation is this:
Well, pull out your PDA, time to share the cash. And don't be thinking it's for nothing - you're paying us to maintain order at the Garbage, understand?
oh that's a bottomless pit of a conversation... we tried to figure it out so many times at the Wiki server as well...
it's like there's a way to "e-transfer" stuff, but then most of the rewards you have to go back to the base for, which is like just a strange way of going about it
the PDA thing just sounds like a mess-up, cuz with the same success they could have said "turn your pockets inside out"
there is the story of a second narrowly avoided explosion at the power plant
the funky iceberg of all this mentions the theorization of the Noosphere possibly being real
The wiki exists, it's true that I've never been there, it could teach me several things
the English one is in dire condition, I'd say.
the most elaborate ones are in russian and polish
there is another version
All right
Real. English Wiki casually spreads misinformation lol (one example is it saying that Strelok is "One of the first stalkers" when trilogy never told us when Strelok actually entered the Zone)
@spring creek You don't believe in conspiracy theories? in the limit
it would be much more respectful of you to credit the developers as artists rather than speculating about the truth of their story
you could go to the zone, tourists do it plenty. you could find videos of people going there. "S.T.A.L.K.E.R."s are in fact real, but all they do is protect stupid tourists from getting themselves irradiated and maintaining the natural state of the zone. There's no loot to be found there, all you'll find is radiation sickness.
I've seen people go down the conspiracy theory rabbit hole before. There's nothing but confusion and isolation to be found there. I implore you to focus on the things we can prove are real, because the real world is far more interesting and chaotic than these stories propose
I expected to have an answer on the speculation
my answer is that you're thinking about it too much instead of actually learning
there are interests that it is better not to know about, because in reality we are puppets on a certain level of society, I will not go into more detail on this, but everyone is free to believe what they want seems to him
you can't go to the Zone anymore, it's a warzone
oh yeah i forgot about that
but still, people did it. people are in there
fewer now, but the perimeter and the station still need to be maintained
so essential staff for the most part, with some old hotheads who still venture in there, but now it's even more dangerous with the potential of new mines having been laid
The above is true, having done quantum physics, I can tell you yes, I am very expansionist, and very imaginative
I never really joined the war in the zone, but rather and in the scientific world in the zone, on a video game such as stalker
How would the zone in stalker look like due to the invasion
Especially since it was taken by the russian army before ukriane recaptured it
new foxholes, new minefields...
iirc russians dug in in the red forest partly
yes, you clearly are imaginative
not everything needs to be imagined though, there are many things we just know
like how stalker is a work of fiction
any activity from stalkers or would they all be driven out by the russian army?
i think that it's a counterproductive view to a casual conversation. in a matter where you don't think a conversation is worth having people simply don't reply
can anomalies do any damage to tanks,IFVs etc?
lol man idk, you're asking kind of a really random question. we're talking a fictional historical line vs reality. let's just see if any of it is present in S2
it's not for lack of imagination, but it's clear and I even recognize that I have a fault, I'm scattered in all directions.
of course, don't you remember the helicopters and the buses in Limansk?
Hey i'm just wondering how the zone in stalker would be if ukraine was invaded in that universe
i know we're puppets, but probably not in the way you're thinking
either way, there's no need to be afraid of learning about whatever you're interested in. People can be wrong, but you can always check their sources (or be distrustful if they don't provide any)
whatever higher power we might have would have no motivation to manipulate minute details of information like for a fictional game. They've got more important things to worry about
not even tanks can survive?
Getting flung around by gravitational anomalies 💀
Tanks are far heavier than helos?
more military everywhere
cars in the zone were cut content for a reason 💀
I am passionate about research and in-depth understanding, even if this sometimes fails me, by asking myself too many questions, and by complicating my task, of course.
we haven't seen any tanks necessarily damaged by anomalies, but there was one teleported into the Red Forest
yeah but tanks are significantly heavier than cars and helos so maybe they can survive?
The Zone does not permit heavy machinery
and if the bubbles in Limansk cut buses like butter, i suspect about the same would happen to an armoured vehicle regardless of the armour grade
OWA cars make me wish they hadn't been removed 💀
you're talking about only one type of anomaly... there's the rest of them too
That one gravitational anomaly💀
if anomalies don't work, the zone would just blast them with an emission
or send hordes of monolith and zombies at them
going to war in the zone is like angering a god
if you really wanna experiment, there's a way to drive the BTR at CNPP, if you manage to save it long enough from Monolith's damage
it simply remains a fictional game exactly, that doesn't stop you from imagining beyond what you might believe as a "Scientist" in the video game, everything else is just fun and good living
you can imagine your own stories all you want, just remember it's not real
Yeah..they do have RPGs from what i know
the zone could just teleport a tank into the sky and drop it
Anomalies are mostly static, it's not like some kind of pagan god deciding to play around
if they get into one, sure, like we see in SoC and in CoP (and even in CS with the tank in Red Forest), but otherwise there's a way around them...
don't they change after emissions though?
not in gameplay
This is just my pure imagination, each person is different, we are not all born equal indeed
In Clear Sky they did in the story though
same as in CoP, when Strelok explains the real reason for the helicopters crashing
the military just had outdated anomaly maps
They do ye but not ingame just in lore
After every emission
a tank fallen into an anomaly field
Anomalies change
aaaactually: in CoP some anomalies change positions after emission
yeah i thought so
the burners (only) in the Bitumen relocate, not sure about other anomalous fields
never experienced that
the zone could just lay out a minefield after an emission
and it has its own soldiers
It's funny how diluted some of the spots to survive emissions are becoming like a wooden shack with no windows>solid concrete structure
the zone doesn't have soldiers.. sigh
@spring creek You have a good sense of repartee, I like the way you see things and within reason it's a pleasure to chat openly with you
are monolith and zombies not the zone's soldiers?
yeah apparently hiding in a shack isn't good enoug, yet hiding in that snork cave in which the area has open spots is good enough protection
Yeah but a shack with concrete isn't enough to protect you from an emission
A solid concrete structure is what's needed
You know that merc camp where you can find fine tools?
We all experience different things, but that doesn't change our good heart and sometimes certain things that can be seen as casualness, but we just need to understand things as they are too

that one is what i'm talking about
Damn
not really...
you speak of the Zone as if it's its own independent sentient being and not a manmade phenomenon
C-Con soldiers
i think of emissions as some sort of energy wave
like radio waves or wifi, both of which can be blocked by certain materials
perhaps emission waves are just really easily blocked by pretty much everything
I just think of them like storms as demonstrated in CS
you need some concrete, or avoid the emission
"Solid concrete structure" 👍🏻🧉
that is what ive gathered from what ive learned, yeah
it reacts to situations and certain people differently depending on how they act within it
maybe not sentient but still a living entity with responses to stimuli
like a lot of stuff Lebedev, Forrester and the Hermit says
but that shack in the merc camp where you can find fine tools,it's made of concrete no?
exactly like ionizing waves
maybe :p
Hey bro
Ello
What
What
howdy ho
What are the so called "C-Con soldiers"
Monolith
I believe that the game only takes into account certain well-defined locations
If you think about it they are
im saying they're monolith and zombies
yeah... the game tells you what's a shelter what isn't
some of the shelters don't seem that efficient
Why not call them just monolith then
Zombies are undead because of different PSY emission I think
We need a faction of ultimate bandits who hang around the CNPP listening to hardbass robbing vets with makarovs
i don't know how that isn't obvious
they live in the center of the zone, people get forcefully turned into them by anomolous effects of the zone, and all they do is defend all the important parts of the zone
I do
Monolith are my 2nd favorite faction, only beaten by the military
So basic
It depends on how the game takes into consideration the location or protection for the emission i think
basic?
So what yours is renegades cause you wanna be special?
Lebedev says it like that because he knows more about the people behind it than he wants to tell you. Forester and Hermit are both very superstitious guys... take what they say with a grain of salt
Or some other shit
Mol1t is the one who loves renegades
his zombies end up dying I think on their own
frankly im a fan of believing the superstitious and the shamans in a world where supernatural things happen but they've learned to adapt to it
All factions are good and there aren't any that are really basic apart from loners but they have good stuff too
Maybe monolith too
liking Duty is basic
i'm a materialistic person, seeing is believing. anything else to me is just unexplained yet science
I am the same way

It can be but liking Duty as mutant killers and not dumbasses who just take potshots at freedom isn't

and to that, of course, i include mathematical calculations, because they begin with very observable arithmetics
Cause most duty members really like killing freedom
isn't the behaviour of monolith and zombies enough evidence that they serve the zone?
they serve people
i am talking about a fictional universe here
and zombies serve nobody, they're just obstacles
They failed monolith
Ah here are a few that appeal to me
Yes, their brains are literally fried
And some other shit sometimes
in the story of Strider from CoP we see clear evidence of artificially induced influence on the brains of the Monolithians
I did not say the contrary
All this talk is gonna make me autistically research everything about psi shit and the monolith
do you have any questions lol
they are all blind apparently Monolithians
I rewrote recently a large section of the article on Monolith as a faction and have been going through in the past on the matter of the psi-emissions
okay, but aren't those people the same people who created the zone?
What is your point of view
@gaunt burrow
Ngl, RP-74 is a good sniper rifle
C-Con appears to be responsible for it
on what?
The Monolith
As a faction, you mean? Elaborate on the question, please, there's a lot to unpack here lol
Forgive me I forgot to clarify the question of Psi-emission
What is your article in summary on the question of psi emissions in relation to the Monolith?
It's starting to get late for me 😴🛏️
Well, in simple terms the psi-emissions are the reason for getting people under fanatical control. The faction used to be relatively peaceful, albeit cult-like, but then there was a major shift in their behaviour and they became hostile to everyone
Zombies are a consequence of the psi-emissions frying their brain too much
And occasionally other shit like controllers
Controllers are a slightly different thing, part of the experiments on people
I mean controllers turning people into zombies
The controllers are much more violent
an abomination
Lil bro just wanted to
, chill
he just wanted to make sure you paid your bus fare
Degtyarev canonically could beat the hell out of the other protags bc he's military and presumably jacked

I have moving memories when I was 12 stopped

too fat of a bait
literally not
True tbh wasn't strelok described as kind of skinny before
Nursing home battle
But Degtyarev is in his prime
And majestic af
Even more so than strelok
I think I made a tweet somewhere about strelok looking like an old dog
Interesting detail I saw in a new video about the SGF demo today, they say Skif and Hermann are trying to cross into the zone illegally, so perhaps Hermann does not work for the government anymore by the time of S2. Also would raise questions about why the two of them have an advanced anomaly scanner
True tbh
Literally hahah.

Fake news.
I am going clinically insane in CoP. I have a quest, for the monolith survivors, but neither faction, freedom nor duty, will take them in. Neither trusts me enough, and there are no more quests I can do for either to bolster that. Am I just soft locked for that? Will I forever have a little gray arrow in Yaniv Station?
I was in a similar situation but I forgot what I did
Sounds like you'll have to go in and tweak some values in a file.
here's what you should do: reload your previous save, tell Loki about Flint/Magpie (that will increase your relation with Freedom a lot), complete Yar's sidequest
and get "Diplomat" and "Mutant Hunter" achievements
Freedom will become friendly and you'll still be able to get "A man of balance" achievement and Yanov's neutral ending
The issue is I did Magpie's stuff a while ago, and I just recently got Mutant Hunter, and I did Uncle Yar's stuff a decent bit ago, but not too long.
hmm. is it normal for suslov to not sell the better clear sky armor after becoming frends with the faction?
i dont see it in his inventory..
I sold the General of Duty's PDA to Loki, but I couldn't find the other guy from Duty that has one you can give over.
you should've given it to Owl to unlock Yanov's neutral ending and a man of balance achievement tbh
do you have older save when you didn't completed sidequests related to Maglie?
Probably not, I play on Xbox and it's an older game, so you have to delete save files for save storage. I wouldn't mind starting a new game if it wasn't for the grind back up to where I currently am with fully upgraded weapons and exoskeleton.
If that's what it takes, I'll just suck it up and do it.
savescum
OH GOD bloodsucker on the swamps before i left to cordron lol
just press F5 and then F9. keep doing it until armor will appear in his inventory
you can continue playing if you want to
however if Strider won't be recruited in any faction then his ending slide will simply be skipped
does it reset his inventory?
yes
oh nice!
@restive shell CS-1 Body Armor will appear in Suslov's inventory once you are fully friendly with Clear Sky btw
thats the point. i am maxed out but its not there
i think i am ;p. on the relation screen their bar is full
ok then just keep savescumming. it should appear in his inventory sooner or later
Or "CS-3a" if you're playing SRP
why did SRP changed the names?
Because the names got switched around
CS-1 is obviously the weak suit, not the one with the gas mask
The one we can buy is the CS-3a, just like CoP
I believe there was some confirmation on the other suit being called the CS-3b, but the community just calls it "CS-2" and thinks it's worse than the CS-3a
CoP calling it CS-3a is just weird ngl. weakest Clear Sky suit in CS was CS-3A also
Because the names were switched around by mistake
Weirdly enough not fixed in any CS patch, though
I guess canonically strongest Clear Sky armor should be called CS-3A right? since CoP is the last game
No, because they also got that other one. The "CS-2"
Which realistically just should be the CS-3b
is there a way to figure out where upgrade flashdrives are? im missing one in the swamps
can they spawn in stashes that i get from corpses? or only from those offered by npcs?
i see i can get locations from those two options. i wonder if they are the same
I mean they reveal what's in the stash when you ask them about it
True, but not always and not about the flash drives
Most of them that are acquired by buying
whats in it? No idea. lol they dont sometimes ;p
unless they always do when its the flashdrive? hmm
The ones about flash drives aren't
ive relaoded few times now and asked nimble and surprise he alwyas mentions the flashdrive when he offers the specific stash 😄
To make it clear
uhm... an npc in clear sky base just took out his gun and blocks my way out of the house with nimble..
what do i do lol
The both are yes
Go back and let him move
real
Hey I have a question. Anyone know how much pre-ordering the ultimate physical edition is? I can't find it on the website
Go back as far as you can go so the NPC doesn't think you are trying to talk to it and then he might move
Step away and wait for him to move
that's kinda cheating 😄 like checking the wiki haha.
Seems like common sense, tbh
Ah, physical
You'll have to check if there even is a place that even sells them
oh yeah also one thing.. one npc gave me a specific quest to find CS scouts pda.. but in middle of the road to the corpse the quest cancelled itself. i see that the npc didnt die. is this a bug? can i restart that quest again? i found the pda but it sits now in my inventory..
seems like a bug yeah
oh well, rip becuase it was very far back :S
I don't think ||him dying is the|| problem
The website gave me a link to the physical edition
It doesn't say how much?
@gaunt burrow
Oh yeah, now I remember why the AKM-74/2U is cool
It literally burns through all your ammo
Would be devastating with AP rounds, tbh
agree
Yeah, can't wait to try a playthrough with that thing and start crying
Throw bolts at him and call him names
what does integrity do when upgrading armor?
What mod?
CS ;p but i do use SRP if that changes anything
Or am I too used to CoP's "Durability"?
i'm still on 2/3 of the original trilogy heh
It basically reduces the chance of attacks making you bleed, I believe
oh that's awesome. wish it had a tooltip or something ;p
i might stick around swamp for abit longer to upgrade the suit fully
i wish artefacts would respawn. hunting them is kinda fun ;p
Artifacts do respawn in CS but eh, you gotta wait 2 ingame days (around 5 IRL hours) in 1 location
i could use the sleeping bag
they won't respawn on one map if you will be at any other map, no matter how much time you will spend there
oh damn that sucks :< i guess it makes sense considering how good money makers they are
don't worry tho. in CoP respawn of artifacts isn't a big problem
you can just go to sleep and after emission(s) they'll respawn
emissions are back in cop?
68 days
hmm. i got a random stone shower artifact form a dead clear sky guy and i cant sell it to the trade.. could it be a quest item that i gave to the guy that died?
if it can't be sold then it's a quest item, yeah
funny how tou can loot quest items back ;p
aye. some NPCs can die randomly
once I gave trophy AKM to a Cordon loner, and after I while I saw his dead body and that trophy AKM in his inventory and took it back
i guess ill have to drop it. bye 3k ;_;
theres another way to make easy money
dont tell me only clear sky can upgrade the CS armor ;_;
I believe only Gray can upgrade it
And bandit technician Limpid is the only one who can fully upgrade SEVA
i might join bandits.. but not in my firs tplaythough or two ;p
wouldn't recommend it honestly. faction war as a bandit is fighting on 3 fronts
loners, dutyers and freedomers all attack bandits
sounds like alot of shooting ;p
but yeah one way is already tiresome sometimes
and i bet there will be better suits than seva.. or even then. i dont need maxed out seva in the mid game
Thanks
No worries
that cheeky breeky
I was called?

Reason: Unspecified
so what armor should i aim for next after the CS one? what to look out for/upgrade?
Completing the loner faction war gets you a seva and some other stuff. Only the bandit technician can fully upgrade the seva suit tho
kill freedom
If you have 15k in your pocket you can get up to 5 slots
I always do loner then duty faction war
But now I have to kill loners to get the garbage so idk
I remembered it working before
Idk
Just wait till the bandits kill off the loners in garbage again
Problem is they have exos now
Bandits ain't doing nothing to them
They've attacked once and didn't even kill anyone

is seva not fully upgraded better than the cs fully maxed out?
Idk maybe I've never used the CS suit much
If you complete the loner faction war you can compare stats and add the upgraded ones to it
generally upgrading SEVA would be a better choice (imho) as it can hold 5 artifacts
CS-1a body armor maximum can have 3 artifact slows
but it also has more bulletproof-ness than fully upgraded SEVA. Fully upgraded CS body armor can have 60 bulletproof-ness, fully upgraded SEVA just 45
i also read that later enemies start using ap rounds so bulletproof becomes less effecive..
@gaunt burrow when was Duty and Freedom created?
Duty most likely was created in 2006. Shulga in CoP has an interesting dialogue mentioning that him and his friend Lenya came to the Zone shortly after it was created and received help from Duty: "That's a boring story and there's no heroism involved. As soon as the Zone appeared, Lenya, a friend of mine, decided to come here and check it out. I was a field officer at the time and Lenya was in the intelligence service. Now, we weren't suckers or anything, but we ended up in a real mess. We crawled for hours, wounded and bleeding, until finally Duty picked us up. I made it, Lenya didn't. I had no friends in the Zone, so I decided to stick around here, with Duty. Plus, I've had a thing against the Zone ever since."
As for Freedom we don't really know
I think closest thing would be Chekhov in his dialogue saying this: "I didn't expect him to do this! I've known him for ages! We hunted for our first artifacts together, we made Freedom what it is today! I trusted him with all the operational planning, and he just went and sold us out..."
special medkit quest..inside the military base with the stupid machine gun fire..
Review of people who played at SGF: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3sGxfFqXopo&ab_channel=PureXbox
man i am the kinda guy who after watching the first trailer know's this will be a week one purchase( after seing how good the game runs from reviewers) and i dont want to spoil anything about the game for myself..
i pre-order only few days before release and only handful of games.
I pre ordered ultimate edition in like March lmao
does he say if he ever played the previous ones? thats my biggest problem with reviews of s2
wtf is he showing a lot of footage we never saw or its just me?
man... what's up with those scam links
so many of them nowadays
@broken latch @worthy lagoon @hazy helm
those mofos are lucky that I don't have a helper role tbh
otherwise I'd instantly delete those links lol
How do folks fall for such obvious scam lol
@kind breach @dire dagger @slow arch
nice, deleted
thanks mods
Nitro is so cheap you don't need to click sus russian links
don't ping the whole role next time, thx
just let a phishing link stay up? lol
Fr just let dumb folk fall for it
.
necessity to mention so many mods everytime someone posts those scam links can get exhausting
i'll suggest to mol1t to make it so only some roles can post links, like experienced and above
should fix the problem
There are experienced accounts who get hacked and post spam messages like these, so maybe there's a better solution.
tahnkfully thats a lot more rare
than bots
It's better than nothing, I guess.
good idea
you guys can also give me ability to delete messages and those scam links will dissapear in seconds
i support this
Maybe just master
For links, experienced is fine, but deleting messages should be master only
fr and trusted folk in the community it could cause alot of chaos
who actually falls for discord links
youd be suprised honestly it happens alot with porn links i see hacked accounts posting it all the time before mods clear it up
You'd be surprised how many actually fall for it
i mean i know, ive seen people fall for it
rule one is never click unknown links fr
why is hatchets squad not at the substation
at which stage of the game you are rn?
Late

LMFAO
I did pripyat 1 and already did the food mission
ok that makes sense then
check scientist bunker?
Hatchet and his guys simply dissapear when you're at late stage of the game
yes, they won't be seen in any location
oh yeah if you havent do mission for scientist
don't worry
it's a scripted event, not really a bug
only way to make Hatchet and his gang remain in the game forever is by assigning them to guard scientists bunker
uhm not get hacked by clicking fishy links?
this would still cumber a lot of issues anyway
Playing through SoC vanilla, is it possible to not find out who strelok is?
Wondering if I could have missed it
I have
Whoa, im heading straight to the hotel then
if you won't meet Guide and follow that questline then yes
That’s so cool
believe it or not many ppl actually missed it
I thought guide was a mission that bugged and didn't disappear and he was supposed to lead me through the anomaly tunnel the first time 💀
and got false Wish Granter endings
It took me ages to get into the tunnel first time
I just kill the military
Trusty PMm and db
Then you get a bunch of AKS-74Us which are awesome early game
Nah as in I didn’t know you could get into the tunnel
Oh damn
Had loads of loot so every time I jumped I was out of breath
Then searched upstairs
Then had to go back and then learned I wasn’t crouching when I was crouching before
literally me
You get good gear it's so worth it
average military killer
And a special fort 12
Yeah I got moles gun, cleared them out trying to find the way in after I went away from the tunnel
🤪
ye, better restock on your supplies before you enter Pripyat Stadium
Or do this
Will do, got my vintar, gp, and a spas
It's not that bad tbh
*SPSA-14
Aye the upgraded one
Threaded one right?
Yeah get it from a dude
Poker's gun
Someone who used to be a dude
someone who used to be a rapist 💀
I'm not even kidding. check this: https://stalker.fandom.com/wiki/Neutralize_the_bandit
Daaayum
Oh yeah, Poker was it?

Yeah, I kinda may have riddled his body with shotshell with my spas 14
yep
I cleared out the military outpost next to the starting village
It was pretty easy, was disappointed with myself on how easy it was
Also jesus christ, this radio guy can't stop screaming
Are you playing Clear Sky? The radio guy is screaming cuz you joined a faction and arent helping them.
SoC
Remember that military outpost close to the starting village
You can shoot down the transmitter to shut him up :p
too late i left the base
but i will do that for the next time i come back
I'm thinking now on how to assault that place In clear sky. They have machine gun there now. Shredded me when I entered cordon ;_;
The worst part of Clear Sky. You either get in on your first try or on your 20th
Ye criticism on Cordon machinegunner is pretty valid
There are 2 ways to do it
I think
You can snipe the guy from afar
Or just go left
There's only one machine Gunner?
Can I approach that base from other side than the entrance to swamp?
Yeah
Yep
Snipe Vist? From what? AK?
Gp 37
Never tried it but is it possible?
Yes
I think I remember doing it with a val
I could use the sniper I found in the swamp that has to be repaired too. But then I'm not sure I'll find ammo for it
No, it's skill issue, pure and simple
There is another way tho

But the holy run is necessary
People who play for the very first time wouldn't know strategy how to bypass him and a lot of nuances
But there is another way that doesn't require sniping
Are the military in SoC this easy to kill?
Skill issue
Lack of knowledge about the game I wouldn't call a skill issue tbh
Yep
The true skill issue is rage quitting or coming from the North
This I can agree with
Disappointed tbh, didn't know they had such a skill issue
For the longest time I thought I had to go under the log on the left, didnt know I could just jump over it
First time I just run through while being shot at. At stalker diff I had to use maybe 3 medkits. Wasn't that bad
Cover in that place is literally useless
Running as soon as you enter and following the fence is way safer
military are one of the early game enemies in SoC so they are not too challenging
Yeah, they're great for 5.45 considering it is uncommon
Yo i just found a tunder rifle from a dead duty guy
Barin, I assume.
Guys I just found Yurik dead in the electro tunnel
He was good to me I gave him a medpack broo. He was a good stalker
So the stalker is much better than the merc suit in SoC?
May his soul rest in peace
Stalker Suit is way better than Merc Suit.
good to know
The only way to get tunder 5.45 is either from Sid or Barin
So your assumption would be correct
If I remember correctly the merc suit gives you about 30% resistance to most things while the stalker suit gives 50%
What do i do with the fireproof briefcase i got from the military outpost
well i got it from someone's corpse(they were already dead)
You mean after Agroprom?
You give it to Sidorovich.
the one close to the starting village
Yep that was Barin
he had a good sidearm too
He can give you another special mission after you return to Cordon from X18.
It used 45 ACP so i sold off my 9x18 ammo and it's pistol for some 45 ACP
It's a really good gun, somewhat common ammo, good damage, good handling, grenade launcher only accuracy is the problem sort of
I disagree. Tunder got a nice accuracy.
Maybe I just don't like the scope on it
Yeah the briefcase from the checkpoint is for after dark valley
I'm waiting in the tunnel near Cordon for electro anomalies to spawn so I can become David Goggins
Reason: Bad word usage
It's stats are much better than the AKM74
You won't believe how tired I am after hearing this FREAKING beeping
AKM gets outdated pretty fast.
yeah,i only used it cuz it was much better than the sawn off or the smg
And the fact that the military dropped it in large quantities
Strelok's fast shooting AK is pretty good too
I like the fact it has increased durability
All unique weapons do, as far as I'm aware.
Yeah they do
Aired out X18 with this gun
Shot the pseudogiant twice with the attachable grenade launcher I snagged upstairs
knife fight
yes, you find the merc suit before reaching the bar so
Man this game is way less scary if you hear music
I didn't like how something kept throwing barrels at me
Like okay I'll get out of your house I just want some papers
Yeah i actually found one in the starting village
This franchise isn't scary to me
Idk about you guys, but I almost had a heart attack when I encountered my first bloodsucker and Controller.
As should be
Double barrel too?

I remember my first bloodsucker encounter too
!! It was hilarious.. I literally screamed and ran the other way
A decade and half ago
Maybe more lol
I always really wanted to get that same feeling again ...
ill never forget that first encounter
You got a good memory if you still remember when was your first encounter with those mutants.
oh no i recently beat the trilogy for the first time couple weeks ago
The more reasons I'm into the new map structure in stalker 2. The Alife and the hostility are somethings I'm really hyped for
I want to feel like I'm a rookie again
I'm almost done with CS.
Are there any people who can repair your stuff in SoC like in CoP
im excited for the open world aspect of S2
You mean CS
Or am I? I feel like Limans is one of the last areas.
pretty close
Yeah you are like 80% story
repair with your squad lead before you leave that area
this has probably been asked, but does the ultimate physcial edition have a digital or disc game?
No SoC,i'm playing that rn
I learnt my lesson in Shadow of Chernobyl. I had low ammo, my armor was wrecked and I entered Pripyat stadium, thinking I would be able to return to previous places.
Luckily, I had hard saves.
same haha
SoC doesn't have any technicians.
You can not repair in SoC
Dialogue of that Freedom guy, Screw, makes me think that it was intended for SoC to have a technician.
I'm not certain of that, though.
probably was intended at one point, but was scrapped due to weird development
What about upgrades? Can i upgrade my guns
however you can "repair" armor
and no, you're stuck with what you have, the only "upgrades" are with unique items you find
like the fast shooting AK and all that
you can place attatchments like scopes and grenade launchers and stuff though
Nope
but yeah as for the "repairing" armor thing, you can have a bug where if you have a full belt of a specific type of artifact it does weird things to it's stats if you stand in certain anomalies that instead of damage your suit, repair it
I have to keep this in mind.
yeah, there's plenty of guides out there to show you which ones you need and where to go
people debate whether it is or not, but the way i see it it's a bug with the stats
Things can be attached only on certain weapons, I believe.
yeah i had mentioned that certain weapons can have scopes and grenade launchers
I did notice that desciptions aren't always correct. Description of M203 mentions it being for SGI 5k, the TRs 301, the GP 37 and the IL 86.
Tried to attach it to GP37, and couldn't.
I'm pretty sure it needs to be upgraded until you can actually attach it
Also i noticed my character went from rookie to experienced
You need to upgrade to attach it
The assault route not the sniper one
Do i complete certain quests to achieve a higher rank
You can get higher ranks by killing and doing side quests
And a couple other ways too that I don't remember
I see
Is there an achievement for beating CoP without dying?
No
This isnt Sifu
Lmao
i only asked because there is one for beating SoC without dying and i already did that one, just didn’t know if there was one for CoP
There isnt
Then why is there one for SoC only
Name me the Achievement
No there isnt one normally

How tough are military stalkers compared to regular army and spetsnaz guys
I just faced 2 of them in the arena and boy were they bullet sponges
then what is it
A challenge
Bruh
he said in the video its an achievement i thought
He spreads misinformation
Its fine
He never even played the game before. Check the comments.
Who calls "anomalies" "radiation"?
Apparently, that guy does.

Would it still be a good challenge to try to beat CoP without dying though?

idea^ not challenge
i will watch it
im also playing it on console so its gonna make it harder probably doing a 0 death run
its hard enough aiming at enemies in pc stalker. cant imagine it on colsole ;_;
Console actually ain’t that bad, i just had to turn the aim assist off completely because it sucks really bad whoever made it
nope but it's funny anyway ^_^
there is one in anomaly
beat the main questline in ironman mode you get a special achievement
oh wait you're console nvm
You can
you can attach scopes and silencers
Can i put attachmentsn on a TRs-301?
You can put silencer and SUSAT on TRs
YEAHHHHH BABY
Yes you can
I just need to find me a TRs-301
Tbh its not really necessary. Army Warehouses has a unique Sniper TRs
Spoiler***
More specifically mercenary outpost at the Army Warehouses
are you playing SoC? there's one at the warehouses, northwest corner in the mercenary outpost, you can also give it to Voronin and recieve a Vintar
Oopsie
though, that would be uneccessary, since there's a free Vintar at Freedom's base
Let the guy find it on his own damn it
!! At least highlight the level, not the actual location lmao
Yeah but i love the TRs
i love the fact that you can run from Cordon to Warehouses immediately after starting new game and get all the endgame loot
SoC truly is the best stalker game
One of the stalker games of all time
Truly makes you feel like a shadow of chernobyl
Gunplay ruined it for me
literally, Vintar, Groza (5.45 optional), GP37, SGI-5K and Bulldog 6 all in the first 15 minutes
You better ask such questions at #🔩┃trilogy_modifications tbh
wdym
mental illness!
Wait. How? The path to rostok is blocked.
You can still get through. Theres video about that
you either knife or push the door with your body
and it'll open
https://youtu.be/qWalvABAr8c?si=eSYSfILNXvlXgq-Q @indigo marsh
this truly is the immersive simulator of stalker
Funny thing how CoP gets criticised for having high-end gear lying in the open, yet the same is also present in SoC and nobody bats an eye.
The difference being you have to use a bug/physics oddity in SoC, while in CoP it's just there in an intended way
CoP is just better
people hate on CoP because they're insecure about liking CS
There's a bit more hassle involved, but in the end a free gun is a free gun
so truee bestie
That said CoP is short enough that I don't see it as that big of an issue
I have the most hours in cop
How many?
i have 130 on xbox and i have only had the game like 3 months
Only OP items SoC has in the first area would be Merc Suit and Tunder 5.45 (and even that gun only has only 10% of chance of actually appearing in Sids inventory. Not to mention its price being 20K RU/SR)
there are free high-level guns at the garbage and dark valley too, it's just that getting to warehouses is easier
that door to Bar wasn't in the game until literally last builds, too
While you can literally find Vintar, SVD and other OP guns in the first minutes of CoP
And only thing that can prevent you from doing so is self control
I like to get the SVD and kitted AK within 5 minutes
does the Svarog detector detect all artifacts or do I need to carry a veles with me as well
For Vanilla COP
svarog is a modified veles, no?
Svarog is strongest detector
You might as well just sell Veles since it won't be needed
It is, but someone said that it doesn't detect all of them, so I was wanting to confirm that
Dunno where he got that from
Idk, sometimes people are just wrong about stuff. Like the master difficulty myth
But yeah, I'm just trying to artifact hunt and I can't seem to find more than one or two in each anomaly, sometimes non and I've rested for days through several emissions
CoP just has a bad anomaly/artifact system
Maximum amount of artifacts you can find in 1 anomaly is 3
In all my playthroughs I've never seen more than 3 artifacts in an anomaly
yeah I'm finding none is the thing. I felt like early game I was finding a bunch
