Anybody willing to help me troubleshoot stalker SOC a bit? Every time I pick the game up I somehow end up sequence breaking or getting bugs that make story missions incompletable. Even after several fresh installs, with and without using the zrp mods, the game just won't let me much passed the ||brain scorcher|| missions

I believe it's usually in the zones where the snorks and zombies spawn, but my objective markers are absolutely off. I'll be on the edge of the map following an arrow to an objective, only for the arrow to point in the reverse direction once I cross the map border to the next zone.

it's to a point my PDA just won't tell me the real direction of any objective. And when I try to mark objectives it's pretty much unresponsive.

Because they can move forces more easily to the barrier. If Duty had set up forces there then they would be assaulted in the rear of the barrier unit and convoys supplying the troop at the barrier could more easily be ambushed. Also the barrier puts a significant strain on the forces of freedom.

TLDR; It would be stupid to do that because freedom base is near to the barrier and they are doing it already.

at first i stuck to using the Viper 5 rolled for 9x18, 9x18 was also in abundance

but whatever the Viper 5 can do, turns out Chase 13 was just as good at the role

Ammo for Vintar and other 9x39 guns you can buy from Duty trader Mitay, bandit trader Tooth and Sakharov

Some NPCs also might have 9x39 ammo (for example some Agroprom loners in CS use Vintar)

its badly balanced and badly written, not much to play

Well. You shoot them back usually. Technically it is possible to stealth it at night but the stealth mechanics in this game are pretty unreliable.

Those are unique weapons that have an upgrade built in. Those ones also tend to be more durable. There's no other upgrading system in SoC, that was introduced in Clear Sky

TBH biggest strike against the swamp is all the weapons you get in the very early game are barely usable

But the size wiil only be as big as the devs make it out to be. Skyrim's map is 15 square miles which is rather small compared to something like Rdr2's being 29, yet Skyrim feeling much bigger.

A big map is a bad map if it feels barren

We dont have much on the enemy ai but the few times it is mentioned across demo reviews. Things like "they flank" or "its good". And I dont know if bettering the ai comes with this last 'polishing phase'.

I like the ABR mod for CS and COP but they really make things imbalanced

Like the shotgun you get deals absurdly high damage to the point you can play the entire game with it

In the interview with GSC that Anomalous did, it didn't sound like much had really changed. The AI and difficulty of the monsters seems to have changed a little, making them a bit more unpredictable and somewhat more dangerous, but I wouldn't expect them to do anything more complex than what they're already capable of. I'm not too sure what people would expect from an improved AI at this point anyway. Either way, I don't think there's any reason to worry about it.

It was also much more dangerous to walk around which I appreciated

CoP is still a cakewalk anywhere in there
