Tbh Clear Sky was the most fun of the series. SoC was great but the story heavily outweighs the gameplay, which of course is good since it was the first installment and had a great story with good replay-ability

as for atmosphere, call of pripyat's one lab takes a very generous slice of the cake. the swamp area with the factory and lab in it in shadow of chernobyl really had me tense the first time i ran through it though. agroprom as well. looking back on it, it's not all that bad, but the first time around its rough. the sounds are mostly what get you, but the darkness and random objects being flung at your face in x18 is pure D:

If you play CoP first you will be disappointed, it has the weakest story. Good map. Good gameplay but you wont know whats going on. Even if you try to follow. Try SoC first, trust me on this.

I have a few questions for anyone that can answer. The first question I have is, the Chernobyl trilogy on console, will there be a physical release for Xbox or PS? The second question is, will this version with controller mapping come out on steam eventually? The last is about S2, it’s a rumor and I just want to verify, but the word that’s going around is S2 won’t have controller support on the pc version? In my opinion Master difficulty makes things more difficult in the end game because first time players often go without enough resources and run out of ammo and meds. With easier difficulty you will find more loot on dead bodies.

Go to your SoC installation folder and load fsgame.ltx into Notepad. The first line, starting with $app_data_root$, ends with a drive value, a vertical line, and a path to your user data.

The default for Steam is somehow messed up. It generally points to a path that is only valid for Windows XP. Change that to be a valid path on your OS. For Windows 10, I suggest this:

That's indeed interesting. I've been following Stalker ever since the first game was announced and when it was called Oblivion Lost, but never knew it was set to play in Crimea. Was the Crimea map ever in one of these infamous leaks back then?

No, Crimean setting was a 2 month period in 2002, before it was even named Stalker
When the devteam was discussing concepts for Oblivion Lost Prokhorov proposed the unfinished Crimean NPP as the location for the game (he argued it would be better for the gameplay), but it was later declined by Grigorovich in favor of Chernobyl

All that was done during that phase was old Cordon, which is noticeable due to its rocky landscape

Yeah all of it is captured but then when I take over depot the stalkers say come back for a reward and "this will be in history we beat the bandits" I come back and I get around 12k roubles and some medkits nothing else
