In case you are interested, here is my take on the matter. Before the events of Shadow of Chernobyl, the Military did not have the technology to scan the Zone and make maps of anomalies. Once they got it, they used the newly acquired air superiority to start Project TRUTH aimed at uncovering the secrets of the Zone. Operations such as the investigation at Agroprom and raids at labs X-18 and X-16 were part of that. Since no emissions happened during the events of Shadow of Chernobyl, the anomaly maps established were used to great success, even allowing the helicopters to reach the center of the Zone after the Scorcher was disabled. Since the maps proved to be accurate and they never had any problems with it, they never could have imagined this would change after emissions started again following the end of Shadow of Chernobyl.

There is one issue with stalker 2, it can't compete with Tarkov. Oh yeah, what you're seeing is the difference between White Phosphor and Green Phosphor in your suit's night vision device

The Phosphor is that gives your night vision device's colour, and some more advanced night vision devices use White Phosphor, which provides a blueish white contrast combared to the green and black of standard Green Phosphor

Basically the Gen II Night Vision of the orange science suit provides you a better night vision image
